How to save Amy in Fear the Spotlight

Fear the Spotlight offers a classic survival horror experience where you have to solve complex puzzles as you make your way through the corridors of Sunnyside High. After an occult experiment gone wrong, you play as Vivian and search for your friend Amy, who seems to be possessed by an evil force.

As you fight your way through a twisted version of your high school, you'll need to do things like fix a fuse box, drain a pool, or even break into a prison cell. You'll eventually be reunited with your friend, but then you'll have to defeat the final boss, Spotlight, who follows you throughout your journey. In this guide, we will take you step by step defeat the final boss Fear the Spotlight and save Amy.

How to save Amy in Fear the Spotlight

When you are first to get to the Sunnyside Theatreyou will face a new challenge to overcome. You'll see pools of electrified water that will damage you, and you'll need to find and turn off the generator to get past them. The first generator after entering the Theater can be found on the Balcony. Head straight from the entrance, climb the stairs and interact with the generator to turn it off.

There is an Inhaler on the railing that you can pick up.

When you enter the main theater hall, you'll find Amy inside a giant cage hanging above the main stage. Your first instinct may be to run straight to the stage and untie the ropes, but you'll find multiple pools of electrified water in the area. To make matters worse, Spotlight tries to track you down from the ceiling.

The first phase of the encounter is simple enough. You will need to find and shut down three generators. The first is to the left of the main entrance. Make your way to it carefully, avoiding the Spotlight. Once you turn it off, you'll be able to reach the second generator on the opposite side of the hall.

The idea is the same as before: slowly crouch to it and turn it off. As a bonus, you'll also find an Inhaler near this location, which will come in handy in the boss fight that will appear soon. The third generator is near the stairs leading to the stage. Once you turn it off, all electrified puddles will be gone. When Spotlight isn't near you, run up to the stage. The spotlight disappears and you can untie the three ropes to pull Amy down.

How to beat the final boss

After lowering the cage, a short cutscene will play. At the end, a Spotlight Head appears and follows you throughout the game. He turns into a boss after a few lines of dialogue. In order to save Amy, you will have to defeat the boss.

As with most classic survival horror games, there is a final boss game Fear the Spotlight it's about solving a puzzle rather than using brute force. After the cutscene ends, the boss fight will begin.

The boss will jump towards you a few times, then the Spotlight will turn on and start looking for you. The trick to defeating the boss is to run back to the generators and turn them on to electrify the pools of water. You will then have to lure the boss into jumping into the electrified water.

If done correctly, the boss will be stunned. You will then need to run up and interact with him to deal damage. You will need to repeat this process three times using the three different generators you disabled earlier in the Theater Hall.

The boss will create burning zones on the ground around where it lands that can hurt you.

The first time you do this, you'll need to cut the barbed wires on his head using the pliers in your inventory. After you stun the boss a second time, you'll need to use a screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the grill. Once you manage to stun the boss for the third time, you can use the Screwdriver to hit the glass and destroy it.

Once you manage to take down the boss, a cutscene will play that reunites the player with Amy; but you are not from the forest A fire starts to break out all around the theater hall. At this point you will have to start running with Amy. You will arrive in front of the familiar Rose Door you unlocked earlier. Run in the opposite direction and eventually everything starts to spiral and you wake up back in the Library where it all started.

This will bring Vivian's story Fear the Spotlight to the end, but the game is far from over. You can start over and follow the story this time through Amy's eyes.
