At the beginning of this year, I first fits into Beyblad for the first time since I was 11 years old and quickly became one of my most respected hobbies. Since the beginning of the X generation in 2023, Beyblade has seen a huge influx of new and returning players around the world, and by announcing the Beyblade World Championship at the end of this year, it has never been better to tear it.

I can't help it, I want to eat Beyblade
I'm rough for metal and plastic. Let me eat your Beyblades.
On the whole social media, at /r /beyblade Subreddit, and on my local Discord servers (screaming at the Weblade), new players are constantly asking about the best way to get into Beyblade. Like someone who got very I have a lot of experience in the game in the last few months when it comes to the best (and worst) ways to start your collection and learn how to pull it out with the best of them. Of all the competitive fluctuations I tried, Beyblade is by far the cheapest and the easiest to start. Here's what you need to know about playing Beyblade in 2025.
Japanese Beyblade vs. International Beyblade
The first thing you need to know is that Beyblade comes in two different brands. Takara Tomy distributes Beyblade in Japan and parts of Asia, while Hasbro distributes Beyblade … almost everywhere else.
In previous generations, there were significant differences between the products that each brand offered, but in generation X, all Beyblades are basically produced the same, with a few exceptions in terms of the exclusivity of the region.
However, there are some major differences in buying Beyblades. Takara Tomy Beyblades always comes out first. They usually release between six months and a year before the Hasbro version and Hasbro does not always receive every TT edition.
The advantage of waiting for the version of Hasbro is that they will be significantly cheaper and easier to find. Commercial houses like Target and Walmart transport individual Beyblades for about $ 10, while importing Tamara Tomy Beyblade will cost you to double.
Hasbro's Beystadium is also smaller than Tamara Tom. The Hasbro version of the official tournament arena will be launched in November 2025.
If you want to compete at the top, you will definitely want to invest in the latest and biggest Beys from Japan. But if you are just starting, there are a lot of competitive Hasbro Beys.
Many competitive events will only be Hasbro. You will be allowed to play with Taka Tom Beys, but only if they also had a Hasbro release.
All you need to play Beyblade
If you start from scratch, the first thing you should invest in is the Beyblade X Xtreme battle set. You can find it on almost any Walmart or Target, a local game store, or catch it on Amazon for a great $ 40.
Congratulations! Now you have everything you need to play Beyblade. Battle Set comes with Beystadius, two Beys and two input protools. With that you and your friend can start running Beys and watch them break into each other at outrageous speeds. You will have an explosion of playing with this set, but if you are something like me, it will not take a long time to prepare your collection.
The first thing you want to invest in is the right launcher. There are two types: winding launchers and string triggers. You can pick up the Launcher winding for approximately $ 6, or you can get a red string launcher that connects with Soar Phoenix, one of the best Beys in the whole game, for $ 20. Which trigger you use is a matter of preference. Most people will tell you that winding launchers give you more strength, while string launchers give you more stability, but one of them will complete this work.
You will need at least three beys to play competitively and exist many Outside options. Here is a short list of some of the most popular blades, horotes and pieces that you want in your collection. It is common to buy the whole booster just to get a rampart or a piece you are after, so when you buy Beyblade, pay attention to all the parts included, not just the blade.
Blade | Ratchet | Bit |
---|---|---|
Buster Dran | 1-60 | Rush |
Rod | 9-60 | Ball |
Soar Phoenix | 5-60 | Point |
Beat the tyranno | 3-70 | Be |
Keys shark | 3-60 | Rush |
These are some of the multiple components, but you can play with Beyblade with any Bey. Finding a combos that you like and resonate with you is more important than having the most powerful meta tools, especially when you start for the first time. My favorite Bey is Sting Unicorn and I love the surprised reaction I get from my rivals when I fired it.
Avoid repeating any parts when building three Beyblades. Most events will not allow you to have the same blade, hornet or bite twice.

The main platform to find Beyblade events in your area is WBO. Once you create an account, you can search for events and register to participate. It is an unofficial organization that maintains the standards and rules of the game, and you will find that tournament organizers have a very local access to event hosting. You can find something in the game stores, but most will be hosted in local parks in your area – and are almost always free.
It may be intimidating to assimilate a new group of people, especially when many of them have met for a long time, but every Beyblade event I participated this year was filled with anything but friendly people who are enthusiastic to welcome new Bladers. There is a good combination of men, women, adults and children at events, and it's a great game for parents and children to play together. These local tournaments will last only a few hours and more invested players will bring all the arena you need, so you can just show up with a deck and have them torn.
You will often be able to borrow Beyblades from other players.
Beyblade is a great outdoor activity for summer low -accession costs and a great community of informed players. It is incredibly easy to play, but if you catch a mistake, there is a huge depth of knowledge and technology you can discover. Be careful, but I started with the battle Xtreme two months ago and now I have a shoe box full of parts, an anime addiction and a lot of great new friends.
