How to unlock and use Grasping Orchid in PoE 2

The Gripping Orchid is a secret part of the Tree of Genesis v Path of Exile 2 which can only be revealed after players unlock the Flesh Flower skill in the Passive Tree of the Breach Atlas. The Flesh Flower skill allows players to take the head of Vruun, one of Xesht's marshals that occasionally appear during Stabilized Breach encounters. Defeat Vruun to take their head, then bring it back to the Genesis Tree.

Of course, there is more to this interaction PoE 2and once you figure out how to use Grasping Orchid, you can end up with very powerful (and expensive) armor.

Knowing the best wraiths to recruit for your minion army in Path of Exile 2 is essential information to have, especially for the end game.

How to unlock Gripping Orchid in Path of Exile 2

First, you'll want to complete the Breach quest line at the end of the game to unlock enough points for the Breach Atlas passive tree. In order for Grasping Orchid to appear on the Genesis Tree, you must obtain the passive Flesh Flower and you must find and defeat Vruun, a miniboss that sometimes appears after you stabilize the Breach in PoE 2. If you defeat this boss while you have the Flesh Flower passive unlocked, you will receive Vruun's head as a quest item drop. Pick it up and take it back to the Genesis Tree.

Once you return to the guardian monastery, talk to Ailith and talk about Vruun's head for a while. After some dialogue, a Gripping Orchid will sprout near the base of the Genesis Tree, automatically devouring Vruuna's head in the process.

Vruun has a fairly low chance of spawning after you've successfully stabilized Breach, though passives that lead to Flesh Flower will increase those chances a bit.

Interacting with Grasping Orchid simply opens a new challenge with an item slot with a 0/60 counter above it. Here you can sacrifice up to 60 Breach Rings to get the Grasping Mail base armor type. Rings of Breach can be obtained by purchasing them from the player market or by using Signet Wombgifts on the Genesis Tree. Passives can be unlocked in the Tree of Genesis, which will increase your chances of getting a Breach Ring after using the Signet Wombgift.

The basic Grasping Mail chest type provides relatively low amounts of all three main defensive stats (Armour, Evasion, and Energy Shield). However, what makes this basic type special is that it can cast ring modifiers and you can also use catalysts on it. You're basically sacrificing some defense in favor of a wide variety of offensive and utility affixes that you can get from rings and catalysts. Grabbing Mail armor pieces can get pretty crazy if you can craft them right.

Getting 60 Breach Rings can definitely take a while as you will need both Signet Wombgifts and Hiveblood to get them. You can only get both by completing the Breach encounter, so you'll want to either use Breach tablets or farm some map nodes in the Breach Stronghold biomes on the Atlas map.
