We have been just a few months after the release of another film Avatar, Fire and Ash, which means it is time to prepare for the return of the most tired and unpleasant discourse of pop culture I've ever suffered. Every time James Cameron's science fiction Epic returns in the news, a whole group of people feel the need to tell the world that they don't like or care about Avatar.
What is this phenomenon? Isn't it strange, how often people, unsuccessful, cause the fact that they think Avatar is bad? I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't like Star Wars or Marvel movies, but don't feel they have to tell everyone to everyone. But every time the avatar comes, someone is guaranteed to note that a) does not have a permanent cultural impact AB) looks impressive, but in the end it is shallow and boring. Then they will refer to some combination of Fernngully, Pocahontas and dances with wolves and stare at you smug, as if it were the first to do that joke, rather than one billion. Unobtanium is a stupid name, I'm right?
I will not be caught in the dissertation of why films with the highest grossing of all time are good (although I have written a lot on this topic if you are so tilted), but I have to point out the complete absurdity of the pretending to pretend to be the highest films of all time. With the way of returning water to a large screen and selling theaters I have to ask: if Avatar is so bad, why do everyone still see it?
See Avatar: Water Method The way it was supposed to be seen this weekend
Way Water returns to theaters before the premiere of the third avatar, fire and ash, this December 2023. Just a week you can see the sequel to Avatar, as God intended: In the stunning Imax 3D.
I'm psychic. Over the past few years, I have seen the way of water several times, but there is nothing like watching it in IMAX. It turned out that the long waiting for the sequel is worth it because the film dug deeper into the topics of protection, imperialism and identity that made the original so strong, while fulfilling the promise to add a visual spectacle as no other. See it again on the big screen is an opportunity that I will not miss, and I do not recommend.
Obviously, many people feel exactly the same way about re -release. When booking tickets for this weekend, I found that most of the screenings in theaters in my area were mostly or completely filled. Life in southern California is not the lack of theaters that would sponsor. We have more IMAX theaters than anywhere else in the world. There are seven IMAX theaters within 30 minutes of where I live, and almost every performance is already sold out.
People love avatar even if they don't admit it
Endgame managed to leave the place in second place from the water during the last repetition, but after this week there is a great chance that Avatar 2 will climb back. The audience eager to see this two -year film, because despite what people say on the Internet, it's a good movie.
If you do not agree, I recommend that you give him another chance this weekend. It is divorced from hype and intrigue around the original edition, it is an opportunity to watch a film with fresh eyes and really fall into an experience. You may find that you got stuck with you more than you thought. And as the world is constantly out of control, you may find that some of its messages today resonant than it was two years ago. And if not, well, that's okay. There are a lot of movies you probably love, which I think are okay.
I would never say that the way of water is a perfect film and I think that valid critics need to be made. But to suggest that it is purely derivative eye candies is ridiculous. If it were true, why would screening continue to be sold a few years later? Despite what the Internet says, something about Avatar means something to people.
