I'm afraid Nintendo Switch 2 won't be releasing anything but Bangers anytime soon

Nintendo's latest financial report highlights some of the upcoming ones Switch 2 games that are on the way for 2026 and beyond. Nintendo's Switch 2 has been a huge success since its launch in June of last year, selling nearly 20 million units and outselling its predecessor in the process. If Nintendo wants to keep the Switch 2 momentum going, it will need to make sure there is a steady stream of new games for fans to enjoy in the coming months.

As of this writing, many of Nintendo's plans for the Switch 2 in 2026 remain a mystery. While the leaks potentially let slip some of the big games Nintendo is releasing this holiday season, the company has mostly focused on games that will be released over the next few months. Nintendo's latest update on upcoming games for the Switch 2 came as part of its latest financial report, and we can look forward to some major titles in the near future.

Nintendo reveals the best-selling Switch 2 exclusive games to date for its latest home console/handheld hybrid.

List of upcoming Switch 2 exclusive games

  • Yoshi and the Mysterious Book – May 21st

  • Star Fox (2026) – June 25

  • Splatoon Raiders – July 23rd

  • Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave – TBA 2026

  • Pokemon Winds and Waves – TBA 2027

Nintendo's announcement didn't include new game reveals, but it did recap the big Switch 2 games that will be released in the near future. On the side of the first side, it has Nintendo Yoshi and the mysterious book will be released as a Switch 2 exclusive on May 21, followed by Star Fox remake June 25. Focused on singleplayer/co-op Splatoon spin-off, Splatoon Raidersis due out on July 23rd. And finally Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave due out this year while Pokemon winds and waves coming sometime in 2027. Switch 2 owners will also have a chance to play the Switch 1 game Rhythm Heaven Groove July 2 because Switch 2 is backwards compatible with Switch 1 software.

Nintendo is likely to hold a big Nintendo Direct event in June where they'll have a lot more reveals of Switch 2 exclusive first-party games, but in the meantime, reliable leaks have potentially revealed some plans ahead of time. Leakers correctly predicted the release windows Star Fox and Splatoon Raidersand so it stands to reason that their claim that Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will release this summer is also correct. The same leakers also said that a Zelda: Ocarina of Time the remake is coming to Switch 2 as a big holiday game, so it will be interesting to see if that happens.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be released for Switch 2 on June 3rd next door Start of eFootball!and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales coming June 18th. Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Infinite Ragnarok will be released on July 9, Culdcept begins is coming on July 16th and will be released this summer 007 First Light and Orbitalswith the latter being a co-op-focused Switch 2 exclusive. Village in the Shadows coming to Switch 2 in the fall and finally Professor Layton and the New World of Steam it will be released sometime later this year.

Really, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to upcoming Switch 2 games. Rest assured, there should be plenty of games worth playing on Nintendo's latest home console/handheld hybrid, though the jury is still out on whether fans think the software justifies the Switch 2's price hike.
