Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sheds new light on how the breakup between Indy and Marion Ravenwood turned out. Thus, the upcoming game answers a decades-old popular question Indiana Jones fans have been wondering since the 1980s.

As ComicBook noted, the game's opening sequence shows Indy finding a gift from Marion in the form of a new journal, prompting his mentor Marcus Brody to question him about the gift's origins. While initially evasive, Indy is subsequently revealed to have abruptly left Marion and gone to Siwa, Egypt, all in an attempt to escape some of the problems that had developed in their relationship. All of this takes place between the events of the first two Indiana Jones movies when the new game takes place.


Indy avoided Marion for months before the events of 'Great Circle'

The game's opening sequence also reveals that Marion has been trying to get in touch with Indy for months after he left her. While in Egypt, Brody answered calls from Marion, which eventually stopped. All of this means that their breakup was initiated by Indy, who basically haunted her until she gave up.

The game is currently scheduled to hit Sony's current generation console sometime in Spring 2025.
