One piece is currently in the Elbaf arc, and since it's part of the Final Saga, fans will inevitably get a lot of exciting revelations about the ancient history in this part of the story. Oda had already uncovered the ancient Elbaf mural that had been carved into the Adam's tree earlier in the arch, and Loki's flashback has already given fans some absolutely massive revelations regarding Im, and even legends like Joy Boy and Davy Jones. While concentrating a lot Davy Jones in this arc, fans should also note that Joy Boy remains more important to the story than ever.
Although it may not seem like it, Joy Boy and Davy Jones are central figures in the God Valley incident from Elbaf Flashback. Recently, Oda revealed crucial information about the Will of Davy, but the Will of Joy Boy, which was introduced long ago in the story, lives with it, as does his blood. The fans know Luffy will be the next Joy Boy chosen by Inherited Will. Luffy has Nika's power and also achieved the title of Joy Boy from the likes of Zunesha and even Momonosuke. But while Luffy is Joy Boy in a more literal sense, Joy Boy's blood probably lives in a completely different individual, Shanks.

As Imu wanted to wipe out Davy and Joy BoyShanks and Blackbeard was rescued from God Valley. The two have always had parallels, and both are most likely descendants of legendary characters from the Void Century. To reinforce the idea, just look at Joy Boy from Fishman Island and it's clear that he looks exactly like Shanks, and the final icing on the cake is the fact that Oda directly compared Haki Joy Boy to that of Shanks. Shanks wasn't the savior of the world or another Joy Boybut she may still carry his blood and play a major role in overthrowing the world government.
