The estimated file size for the Kingdom Hearts 1-3 collection is a whopping 131GB, meaning each game will take up more than half of your Switch 2's storage space to install.
After the terrible drought that has been the last four years of Kingdom Hearts news, the last few weeks have finally started to give fans something to look forward to. The brand new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 was obviously the biggest news, but the long-awaited announcement of a true native port of the entire Kingdom Hearts collection for Switch 2 was also incredibly exciting.
Kingdom Hearts fans have been dying for a proper way to play the series on Switch after the terrifying Cloud Editions, and that's exactly what the collection will give us. Unfortunately, there is one inevitable but still notable issue with bringing such a massive collection to Switch 2, and that's the staggering file size, which Nintendo recently confirmed.
Kingdom Hearts 1-3 Collection takes up 131GB and KH3 is surprisingly not to blame
The game key card makes a bit more sense now…
As pointed out by Twitter user Genki_JPN, the official Nintendo Store pages for all the games included in the Kingdom Hearts 1-3 Collection include their file sizes. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix (which is the first game after Re:Coded) takes the most space around 54.2 GB, while Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 has a file size of 26.9 GB.
Kingdom Hearts 3, on the other hand, takes up 45.2GB, which is a bit less than I expected for the latest game in the series, especially since it includes ReMind. As Genki_JPN tallied up, the total storage cost of Kingdom Hearts 1-3 Collection with everything installed is around a whopping 131GB.
Since the Switch 2 only comes with just under 250GB of internal storage, that means the Kingdom Hearts Collection will take up more than half of that if you choose to have every game installed. This is pretty much inevitable with so many games in one collection, but you'll probably want to download and play them one at a time to make room for more games.

Tetsuya Nomura completely remakes Final Fantasy versus 13 in Kingdom Hearts 4
The last place I expected to see Kingdom Hearts 4 was during a Nintendo Direct.
