MADINA: Farmers in Medina have started harvesting dates as palm trees have reached optimum maturity this agricultural season, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The ripening process of date palms involves several stages, starting with pollination and progressing to thinning, where excess fruit is removed to promote optimal growth. Dates are carefully wrapped in palm leaves before harvesting to protect them from the heat of the sun.
