This time, the studio is producing story sequences for the upcoming ARK: Lost Colony expansion, which will be released in 2025. According to a post by the official X (formerly Twitter) for ARK: Survival Ascended, ARK: Lost Colony will fill in any gaps between ARK: Extinction and Genesis.

MAPPA was founded in 2011 by Masao Mareuyama, who was the co-founder and producer of Madhouse. In a short time, MAPPA has built a solid reputation for animating some of the biggest and most notable anime titles. These include:

The most anticipated MAPPA projects

MAPPA is currently working on several anime projects, the biggest of which is Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. The first season of Chainsaw Man was already released in 2021. Since then, fans have been waiting for updates regarding future projects. Although the film was announced a long time ago, MAPPA did not provide a release date until Jump Festa 2025. Most of the crew from the first season will remain in the film, except for the director. Tatsuya Yoshihara is confirmed to be directing the film.

MAPPA is also working on a compilation of Jujutsu Kaisen's Hidden Inventory arc. The film will only focus on the Hidden Inventory arc, which covers Gojo Satoru's past and his relationship with Suguru Geto. It also features Toji Fushiguro, one of the strongest known figures in Jujutsu Kaisen.

At Jump Festa 2025, MAPPA also released a new visual for the Culling Game arc, which will be adapted into the third season of the anime. The studio did not provide a release window for the anime, but it is likely to premiere in 2026.
