Meanwhile, other players improve their game by using Marvel Rivals mods to change hero models. This ranged from adding different skins from Marvel comics and movies to adding Fortnite Captain America and Spider-Man models above the default units.

One User Nexus Mods recently uploaded a Donald Trump mod for one of these Marvel Rivals” popular Vanguards, Captain America. It took off on social media, with some even looking for players with a Joe Biden mod to line up for the match. However, Nexus Mods seems to have banned and removed the Trump mod, as players are being redirected to an error page that says it can't be found on the site. Likewise, the Biden mod is also unsearchable on the web.

Why was Donald Trump Marvel Rivals Mod removed?

In 2020, Nexus Mods released a blog stating that it would ban mods related to sociopolitical issues in the United States and encouraged users to report any mods that violated this rule. The announcement came around the same time as the highly contested election between then-incumbent Trump and his challenger, Biden, who ended up winning the race.

More on social networks Marvel Rivals Fans were not surprised that the mod was banned, mostly pointing out that the Captain America model was not suitable for Trump. Meanwhile, a select few seemed unhappy with Nexus Mods banning any political imagery from their site. This isn't the first time Trump has been used for a video game mod. Although many have probably been removed from Nexus Mods, there are still mods available Skyrim, Fallout 4and XCOM 2 which represent a controversial figure.

On the other hand, Marvel Rivals developer NetEase Games has not addressed any issues regarding the use of character mods in the game, especially those depicting controversial and/or political people. Since this is still a new game, NetEase is working on various issues such as fixing any game bugs and removing fake bans Marvel Rivals players.
