Monster Hunter Wilds will be the biggest game of 2025

Capcom's blockbuster is already attracting hundreds of thousands of people. And that's just the open beta…

We already know the monsters that will be included in Wilds thanks to the leak, so one thing off the wishlist, but the community keeps adding more. The Monster Hunter series has historically been pretty open with collaborations and crossovers, and fans are hoping to get one with one of the biggest games to come out recently, Elden Ring.

You are without a hunter

Elden Ring, along with the rest of FromSoftware's games, have some of the most memorable bosses in gaming history. While many of them are unimaginable nightmares like Rykard, there are also some that are grounded enough for the Monster Hunter universe. On Reddit, some fans think Dragonlord Placidusax and Bayle the Dread would be perfect inclusions for a Monster Hunter Wilds X Elden Ring crossover.

Both of these dragons are cinematic boss fights in Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Placidusax, with his signature two heads (previously three) and intricately hidden lair, is one of the toughest fights in the base game. Meanwhile, Bayle is pretty easy to find, but incredibly hard to beat.

However, the highlight of the fight with Bayle is not the dragon itself, but the NPC attached to the quest, Igon. He is a fan favorite in the community due to the devastating monologue he delivers when called upon to fight Bayle. If Bayle does make it to Monster Hunter Wilds, Igon should definitely be part of the crossover as well.

In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Bayle the Dread fills his mouth with lightning as he prepares to attack and bite the player.

Since both dragons are well past their prime when you encounter them in the Elden Ring, some comments have mentioned that it would be great to see healthier, all-headed versions of them.

The Monster Hunter series has its own share of dragons and elder dragons, so it wouldn't be too much of a departure. However, Placidusax would look nice with its two heads and aggressive lightning attacks. Bonus points if we have to take a nap in a coffin to summon him.
