Naruto Uzumaki's return date has already been confirmed by the author

Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes continues strong, giving fans new and exciting battles to look forward to every month. Just recently, Boruto concluded a new arc that shed a lot of light on the likes of Shinju while also giving fans plenty of exciting tweaks to enjoy as well. Amidst all this, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex also gave fans some crucial information the return of Naruto Uzumaki.

Ikemoto and Kishimoto know how important it is for Naruto Uzumaki to return to the story, but it seems that even though he is mentioned every now and then in the story, his actual return doesn't seem that imminent. On the surface it seems that no one really knows when Naruto Uzumaki will return. But a deeper look clearly tells fans that Kishimoto and Ikemoto have already revealed to fans that Naruto Uzumaki won't be coming back for the next few years. The first is what fans can and should expect Naruto should return in 3 years from now on. It may be sad, but at this point it seems like the story is heading.

In the recent Boruto arc, Jura specifically mentioned that he was targeting Naruto Uzumaki. This means that consuming Naruto Uzumaki is of utmost importance to Jura. Jura knows that Naruto Uzumaki is alive and will try his best to get to him, but at the same time, Kawaki also realizes that Jura now has key information about Naruto Uzumaki.

In other words, Kawaki will try to defend Naruto Uzumaki harder than before. Quick redirect to the battle between Kawaki and BorutoFans can clearly tell that Kawaki is still controlling Naruto and still has him sealed away.

Kawaki clearly tells Boruto that he intends to send him to the same place where he held Naruto Uzumaki, and this is very important. It means that Jura will not be able to reach Naruto Uzumaki and before that he will be killed. This also means that Naruto Uzumaki will not be exempt from the battle between Kawaki and Boruto Uzumaki.

At this point there doesn't seem to be any indication of a the battle between Kawaki and Boruto happening. Fans know that they have to deal with Shinju first, and then fans will likely see the plots surrounding Akebi unfold.

Only then will the battle between Kawaki and Boruto take place and after this battle Naruto will officially return. With the three Shinju still alive, it will definitely take at least 15 chapters for them all to fall, and another 10-15 for the story to get to the point where Kawaki and Boruto fight. After that, the battle itself will last several chapters, which means that Naruto Uzumaki returns after 3 yearsto say the least.
