New Fallout game officially in development

According to a new report, Xbox is moving one of its biggest RPG studios towards Fallout franchises, s Fallout: New Vegas director Josh Sawyer has reportedly tapped to direct the new one Fallout game. The move reportedly comes as Microsoft restructures Xbox, cancels several projects at Obsidian Entertainment and doubles down on its biggest game franchises.

The timing comes as no surprise given how Xbox wants Bethesda to focus on its flagship games Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Since then, the franchise hasn't received a brand new main series Fallout 76 in 2018, while Bethesda remained focused on Star field and The Elder Scrolls 6. Meanwhile, Amazon Fallout The TV series introduced millions of new fans to the world of post-apocalyptic RPGs and helped increase the number of older players Fallout games to new highs, making the franchise one of Xbox's biggest long-term investments. Still, fans clamored for a new game to no avail.

Obsidian Entertainment is working on a new Fallout game

According to a Bloomberg report via Jason Schreier, whose track record is impeccable, Obsidian Entertainment has scrapped several projects as part of a broader restructuring of Xbox, including a planned 2025 sequel to the game.
