Monkey D. Garp is one of the most famous One piece characters. He is the grandfather of Monkey D. Luffy and the father of Monkey D. Dragon. Fans always had an idea of his strength, but they didn't quite know how he would fare against other powerful characters in a fight.
Fortunately, all questions about Garp's power were answered in the Egghead arc. While the main focus of the arc was Egghead Island, Oda also explored events taking place in the rest of the world, including Hachinos. In addition to revealing Garp's power, the arc also revealed the reward given to him by the Cross Guild.

Monkey D. Garpa's three billion bounty
In One Piece Episode 1121, one of the pirates on Hachinosa shouted Garp's reward. Unsurprisingly, it was confirmed to be 3 billion berries, making it one of the highest known rewards in One Piece. Garp's bounty was also revealed to be the same as the Admiral's. This means that Kizaru, Ryokugyu, and Fujitora also have a 3 billion bounty on their heads. Since Admirals are the strongest fighters within the Marines, it makes sense that they would have such a high reward. Since Garp and admirals have the same rewards, does that mean they are equal in power?
It's quite clear from Garp's demolition of Hachinos that it's a cut above the Admirals. However, the Cross Guild didn't want to complicate their reward system, so they kept Garp at 3 billion berries. There is a good chance that only the fleet admiral has a higher reward than Garp and the admirals because he occupies a higher position. Fleet Admiral reward is unknown at this time, but should be around 3.5-4 billion berries.
How strong is monkey D. Garp?
Monkey D. Garp is a monster who can ragdoll almost any opponent that gets in his way. When Garp reached Hachinos, he jumped off the ship and used Galaxy Impact to destroy the entire city on the island. While everyone else on Hachinos was in utter shock, Garp was disappointed that he didn't do more damage.
The regular pirates on the island didn't have a prayer against Garp, so Kuzan had to step in to stop the Vice Admiral. You'd think a man of Kuzan's caliber would be able to stop Garp, but he proved why he's the strongest marine in the world. Garp was on the front foot for most of the match. Kuzan held up well, but the vice admiral had no problem punching him. Additionally, it is heavily implied that Garp held back because Kuzan used to be his student. Kuzan only gained the upper hand after Garp was injured by the Blackbeard Pirates.
Garp's Haki is his greatest weapon
Monkey D. Garp is one of the few One Piece characters that can use all three types of Haki. He has excellent control over Armament and Conqueror's Haki as evidenced by his attacks. Another testament to his Haki control is that he is the only Marine to corner Gol D. Roger on more than one occasion. The Pirate King actually admitted that the two almost killed each other a few times.
Garp's physical strength is also insane. In his younger days, the vice admiral enhanced his strength by striking the hull of naval ships, which was made of seastone, one of the most durable elements in One Piece. Garp was able to accomplish this feat without using Haki, which shows how dangerous he is. In addition to crashing into ships, Garp also destroyed mountains with his punches. Another piece of evidence that highlights Garp's power is his encounter with Don Chinjao. Chinjao was proud of his drill-shaped head, which he used to pierce the thick layer of ice. However, Garp was able to level it with a single punch. Because of this, Chinjao held a grudge against Garp for many decades after the incident.
Can Garp escape Hachinos?
Garp's chance of leaving Hachinos is low
The big question on fans' minds is whether Garp can leave Hachinosa with the rest of the Marines. In episode 1121, fans saw Garp lying on his back after being attacked head-on by Kuzan. He doesn't look like he's in any shape to continue the fight and actually win. At best, Garp could try to help the young marines get out of Hachinos.
Don't lose your head…Justice will always prevail. – Monkey D. Garp
Considering how Garp threw himself in front of Shiryu's attack, it would have been shocking if he didn't try to help Koby and the others get off the island safely.
The preview for Episode 1122 suggests that Koby might actually join the fight and help Garp out a bit. However, it is unclear whether Koby's efforts will be enough to kill the Blackbeard Pirates.
