You have to respect Atlus for how many kilometers get out of Persona 5. Over the past nine years, RPG has grown to the whole franchise, with mango, anime adaptation and genre overlapating spin-offs such as 5 attackers, persona 5 tactics, and Persona 5: Phantom X.
I spent a couple of hours with Phantom X before its launching June 26 and left amazed at how carefully playing and the story copes with the personality 5. It may look like free mobile spin-off is the farthest thing of triple and console games, but Phantom X is a person 5 to through-but-but-but-but slid-i-but to slid-but-but-but to a slogan-but-but-but-but-but-but-to burst.
I have some reservations about his monetization as everyone should, but I look forward to seeing how Phantom X can add a small personality style to my daily routine.
Mobile has a long history that it is a deeply unbelievable platform, but the tide has recently changed thanks to some spin-offs in the quality of the console from the main studies that practically stands with their trip with their triple brothers. Games such as League of Legends: Wild Rift, Destiny: Rising, Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero helped to establish Mobile as a legitimate platform and Phantom X has as much extent and Polish as some of these games, not more.
Whether you played Persona 5 or not, you will not have much to jump to Phantom X. It has a nicely balanced approach to building the world so that they do not leave newcomers, but also has their own story, but also only a marginal connection with the original Phantom Thieves of Hearts. It follows new protagonists, Codename Wonder and his school friends when they discover their personalities and learn to navigate metavers.
The whole iconography remains intact. Shadows, palaces, velvet room, endless Mementos Dungeon, intimate system and even “1 other” battle mechanic are here, with only minor changes in the formula. The biggest difference between Persona 5 and Phantom X is that it has an energy system that acts as a time gate instead of the Persona 5 calendar system.
Combat has not been simplified at all for mobiles, and in fact, he sometimes feels as if you had even more decision -making points in the battle. The way you can combine the personality set of each character to download debuffs and elementary effects on enemies, gives a fight with sufficient depth. If you imagine the poured version of Persona 5, you can be pleasantly surprised by what Phantom X offers.
Day in personality life
Phantom X has a cross between a mobile and a PC, and when I spoke to Yosuke Uda, the main producer in Atlus after the demo, he explained that he would imagine that players would use two different platforms to get involved in two different pages of Phantom X. When they get home at the end of the day, they can go to their computer to cut battles in memements and enjoy improved graphics and performance.
I see the attraction of the matching of my own schedule with the games. Many aspects of the life of the SIM game are perfectly timed for train rides and breaks on mental health. You can open the app and wonder to see a movie or let it catch up with the confidants around Shibuy at the same time as a break in the bathroom suitable in the office. The time time in Phantom X is more or less an endless process of running small errands and balancing your statistics that can be useful whenever you have a few extra minutes.
But at night in Phantom X is the real meat of the game. When you want to dig into it, the main campaign will guide you through the story of a person's size filled with a character, cutscenes and a lot and lots of dialogue. Seriously, the first hour of the game is basically a visual novel. The first scenario that includes the infiltration of the palace and the overthrow of the shadow of self, a guy who likes to meet at Shibuya and attacked women, has all the land and development of the characters in the game. I play a lot of different kinds of games on the phone, but I see that people prefer to experience the story and battles of bosses on a larger screen.
There is always a gacha
I had a very small exhibition of monetization in Phantom X, but from what I understand, you can play the whole campaign and unlock all the main story characters without taking care of energy or dealing with the Gachy system. Only after you are out of the campaign and the live service-everything that the microtlers come into the game, do I think that fans of persona will be happy to hear.
However, it is still concerned. All the dark patterns that we expected from the mobile are present. For example, there are plenty of overlapping currencies that cover how many things are worth. And even if the new cast is great, you probably want to get Joker, Morgan and the rest of Phantom Thieves on your team. If you want to get them, you will need to play the slot machine. It is not possible to say how expensive or predatory the whole system will be at this point, but in the end it is a persona game with the real money that baked into it, and I do not throw anyone who sees it as a merchant.
I can say that Phantom X is not just a casino masked as a video game like many other mobile titles. It is a fully recommended, highly polished and authentic game Persona 5 with its own identity, mechanics and influence on franchise. I would rather pay $ 60 and of course gaining a complete experience, but regardless of the fact that Phantom X is formed as a mobile game worthy of Persona 5.
