Sony has announced PS5 games featured in several upcoming PlayStation esports tournaments in December 2024. Starting in November 2022, PlayStation Tournaments are a feature on the PS5 home screen where players can participate in virtual competitions in many different games from the comfort of their own home.
Each PlayStation tournament features different games and rules that offer players exclusive rewards for taking on tough opponents from around the world. Previous prizes have included exclusive in-game cosmetics, avatars and cash rewards. Sony has now confirmed which games will appear in the next round of tournaments starting in December 2024.

Sony is officially pulling back the curtain on three games that PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim in December 2024.
These PlayStation esports tournaments will start on December 6th and run until December 8th with the following featured games: EA Sports FC 25, NBA 2K25, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, Madden NFL 25, College Football 25, UFC 5, MLB The Show 24, and Guilty Gear Strive. Players can choose to participate in one or all of the games and stand a chance to win exclusive avatars and in-game items, with details on each tournament available by loading up the Game Center from the PS5 menu or the PlayStation Competitions website.

Each of the PlayStation tournaments focuses heavily on the competitive online aspect of each game and often requires players to have a PlayStation Plus subscription. However, these latest matches coincide with PlayStation's free multiplayer weekend event, which also runs from December 6th to December 8th. This means that all fans can compete for the prizes on offer, regardless of their subscription status, as long as they have access to one of the specified games.
