Pokemon Champions it came out just ten days ago, and while the reception hasn't exactly been positive, it's a fun fighting game for anyone interested in VGC or looking to try competitive Pokemon first. I certainly have regrets Pokemon Champions' Pokedex and item selection, not to mention glitches. A good example of this is a game where I had a Hisuian Zoroark with a Choice Scarf on the field next to an Orthworm that he used a nasty Rotom Wash Trick on to give him a Choice Scarf and lock him into a Body Press, and the next turn my Hisuian Zoroark used his Rotom Wash move because a Hydro Pump Rotom Wash and no RotomWind made sense anymore.
Anyway, I digress. Pokemon Champions he has all the basics he needs to succeed as the main center for VGC, but he will need more time to add everything he needs to get there. In the meantime, I still want to play it and try to be better in competitive battles, so I decided to build a good team with each Pokemon having specific roles and fighting against specific opponents. I settled for Mega Floette for my Mega Evolution.
The best Pokémon of Pokémon Champions is locked at $70 by Paywall
Pokemon Champions just came out and the best Pokemon in the game is locked behind another title costing you $70 and many hours of your time.
The problem was that despite playing Pokemon Legends: ZA in the almost 670 hours since its launch, I haven't really finished everything. In this case, I didn't get the Mega Floette Pokemon Legends: ZA because it required extra grinding that I didn't want to commit to but Pokemon Champions he “forced” me to do it and I'm glad for it.
Why Mega Floette is OP in Pokémon Champions
Although I didn't beat Pokemon Legends: ZAThe whole story for the past few months since I didn't finish the quest line for Mega Floette I knew for the most part what happened. Still, I found the dialogue at the end between Urbain and Jett to be quite intense and moved me because I have my own history of family problems and broken relationships. Not only that, but I finally got my Eternal Flower Floette and Floettite to Mega Evolve it.
In case you don't know, to get the Mega Floette and Eternal Flower Floette, you have to collect the Challenger's Ticket 15 times in Infinite ZA Royale, defeating the respective trainer each time. After the 15th battle, you'll get some story moments, and then you'll get AZ's Floette, which you can transfer to Pokemon Champions via Pokemon Home.
Of all the new Mega Evolutions v Pokemon Legends: ZAMega Floette is currently one of the best. This is because he gains the previously unknown ability of Fairy Aura Pokemon Champions'dismiss. Fairy Aura is Xernease's signature ability and increases the damage done by Fairy-type moves by 33%. This makes Mega Floette's massive special attack stat all the more powerful as it can now OHKO a lot of Pokemon in competitive battles. With the typical moveset of Dazzling Gleam, which hits both enemy Pokémon in Doubles, Moonblast, or Light of Ruin for single-target damage, Calm Mind for increased Special Attack and Special Defense, and Protect for survivability, Mega Floette is likely OP.
Explanation of my best Pokemon Champions Mega Floette team
In fact, Mega Floette is the best Mega Evolution v Pokemon Championsor at least currently in the top three. Most Pokemon will be KOed by Moonblast, and few can resist Light of Doom, let alone if Mega Floette has time to set up with Calm Mind. It's not the fastest Pokemon around, and it's not very physically bulky, but it can clear an entire field if you leave it unattended. For my team I ended up going with:
-
Eternal Flower Floette (Mega Floette) as a bulky special attacker.
-
Aegislash as a physically bulky attacker with physical moves like Iron Head and Shadow Sneak.
-
Gyarados as a bulky physical attacker with Intimidate support.
-
Farigiraf as a bulky special attacker with support moves, especially Helping Hand.
-
Sableye as a support pokemon with Foul Play to OHKO Basculegion.
-
Volcarona as a voluminous support with the possibility of setting Tailwind.

I will inevitably change some of these Pokemon because I don't think this team is perfect. Specifically, none of my Pokemon are naturally very fast, and I don't use Choice Scarf on any of them. Also, I have no reliable way other than Floette to remove Archaludon, one of the best pokemon to use in Pokemon Champions right now, especially in rain teams. Finally, a team can play poorly against sand teams if they flinch with Rock Slide, and I don't play perfectly.
Still, I can't say that Mega Floette isn't a fantastic addition to the team. It won me a few matches, and in one of them I managed to OHKO two Pokémon by setting up Tailwind and then switching to Light of Ruin two turns in a row (although it did KO my Floette from the knockback damage). So even though I hated the grind a lot, I think it's worth getting the Mega Floette Pokemon Championseven if it means spending $70 FOR and then play for about 30-40 hours to get there. In addition, you will experience something good Pokemon story, and I didn't expect it after the climax Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Yes, I'm glad to be back Pokemon Legends: ZA after all this time and maybe even finish a few shiny hunts while I'm at it.
