Pokemon Go announced the debut of Gigantamax Lapras in a new event on December 8th. This is another exciting announcement made with the reveal of Dual Destiny Season Seventeen Pokemon Go season that will start in the next few days.
After a long wait for the players, Pokemon Go added Dynamax forms during Max Out Season. This gave the Kanto and Galar starters and their evolutions a Dynamax treatment, as well as other pocket monsters like Greedent and Falinks. Not long after, Niantic introduced the Gigantamax Pokémon, which gave new forms to Venusaur, Blastoise, Charizard, Gengar, and Toxtricity. Now, with the announcement of the new event, the list of Gigantamax monsters available in Pokemon Go will increase soon.

Gigantamax Lapras will premiere Pokemon Go for the upcoming Max Battle Day, which will take place on December 8th from 14:00 to 17:00 local time. During this period, Kanto Pokémon will appear in six-star Max Raids, with trainers having a chance to find Shiny. Among the bonuses, the Max Particle collection limit will increase to 1600, Power Spots will refresh more often and host Gigantamax Battles. Additionally, Power Spots will give eight times more Max Particles. Trainers will get double particles when exploring and will only need a quarter of the distance to get the particles.

Another first for Max Battle Day will be the introduction of the Max Mushroom, which when used will temporarily increase the Fast Attacks, Charged Attacks and Max Move attacks of Dynamax and Gigantamax monsters during Pokemon GoMax Battles. Attacks deal double damage, and while using multiple mushrooms won't increase the damage, it will increase the duration of the effect. The event will have a $5 ticket that grants access to exclusive metered research that will reward 1 Max Mushroom, 25,000 XP, double XP from Max Battles, and increase the maximum particle collection limit to 5,600. The Pokemon GO Online Store will sell two boxes , one for $6.99 and the other for $7.99 to increase player progress with items.
With the announcement of the Dual Destiny season starting on December 3rd, Pokemon Go players have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Necrozma and her fusion return to Pokemon Goalong with Hoopa and debuts like Sinistea and Polteageist. Dynamax Machop and Dynamax Krabby will also be added to the game later, with the promise of new Dynamax and Gigantamax forms debuting during the season.
