Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular anime series in the world. It is based on the manga of the same name written by Gege Akutami. While the manga was famous before the anime debuted, its popularity reached new heights when the anime started streaming. Jujutsu Kaisen began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018 and ended in 2024. The manga has sold over 100 million copies, making it one of the best-selling manga of all time.

Jujutsu Kaisen released its first season in 2020 and became an instant hit with audiences. The second season was released in 2023 and covered the Hidden Inventory and the Shibuya Incidents.

Many new MAPPA projects will be released in 2025

This makes sense as MAPPA is currently working on several projects and would not want to destroy any of them. The first major release is Zenshu, an anime about anime production. The premise is certainly promising and different from most anime, so there's a good chance it will become a big hit. The studio will also release Chainsaw Man: The Movie — Reze Arc in 2025. Changes will be kept to a minimum, so most of the staff from the anime will reprise their roles in the film.
