PS Plus Extra confirms Day One game for 2025

PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers now have a new game to look forward to in 2025.

Prior to release, the game will be hosting an open beta that PS Plus members will be able to try out before others. As reported during October 23 Monster Hunter Wilds Preview, the ARPG test is scheduled to take place in two phases, with the PS Plus exclusive running from 28:00 PT on October 28th to 19:59 PT on October 30th, which is Monday through Wednesday. After a 24-hour break, the second part of the test will begin at 8:00 PM PT on October 31st and run until 6:59 PM PT on November 3rd. This stage will be open to both Steam and Xbox Series X/S users. as well as PS5 owners without a PS Plus subscription.

As for the scope of the test, the demo will include the character creator used for spoken word design Monster Hunter Wilds the hunter and their Palico. From there, players will be able to experience a small part of the game's story, including the tutorial hunt for Chatacabra and the subsequent hunt for Doshaguma.

During both quests, SOS flares will be available to summon up to three NPC hunters, as will the Seikret mounted bipedal bird. The demo package will also include cross-platform multiplayer. Players will be able to carry over their hunter and Staff into the full game, but no other data will carry over from the beta.
