Silksong's replacement for one mechanic

Hollow Knight: Silksong They were always praised that the fans of playing the pattern fell in love. As a sequel to seven years in production is a kind Hollow Knight: SilksongThe whole purpose to take the building blocks of your predecessor and both iteral and innovate to produce something known, but new. I was fully prepared for these changes, or at least I thought I was before Silksong Actually came out.

I was ready to explore the new kingdom, a new magazine, and a task tracking function, a new instrument management system, and for the new Hornet's new attack, and animation attacks that connect them together. But after I finally got my hands Hollow Knight: Silksong After all these years, I have to admit that there is one new mechanic that I just don't like.

Another is not always bad

Like most players, I imagine that Hornet's air attack was one of the first things I noticed in boot Hollow Knight: Silksong first. Unlike the simple knight's slash, Hornet's air attack sees its charging down in the diagonal arch.

After experimenting with a new mechanic for a few minutes, I clocked that it was a bit difficult to predict the arch of the dive, but I didn't pay much attention to this feeling. After all, anything that further separated Hornet's style of playing style from knights was good in my books because of diversity.

Let's talk about those red flowers

I proceeded with the first hour or two of my Hollow Knight: Silksong Play without really thinking about the new Hornet Air attack. But then at the end of the “The Marrow” area I met a handful of red flowers, which was interesting on the wall. My Metroidvania instincts immediately dug and I jumped into the air, ready to throw on anything unsuspecting leaves.

With ease I disappeared with the first red flower and then the second, and elegantly landed on the platform above without any problems. In front of me I saw several other red flowers, this time uncertainly placed above the spike bed.

This platform activity was a bit more complicated to withdraw, but first I achieved it and felt thoroughly rewarded for it. Together with the tangible reward of some pink beads hidden at the end of this challenge for the platform, I took a lot of pleasure in seeing Hornet's elegant animations inspired by acrobat.

But then I reached “Hunter's march” and my melody changed quickly. The most infamous area from Hollow Knight: SilksongThe blush game, Hunter's March, represents players of difficult challenges that combine combat meetings that are much harder than anything that players have faced and platform segments that require accuracy. In this area, red flowers are used liberally.

Initially I entertained in the challenge of Hunter's march. I took the time to fight the new enemies and tied carefully to every jump and air attack. I began to notice that not all of my air attacks would land where I expected, but it was still not a big problem worth thinking for too long.

Flash forward over an hour and I'm in my personal nightmare. Again I am back at the beginning of Hunter's march. Somehow I didn't make any real progress. In fact, I have permanently lost all 500 Rosary beads who had in my possession. I'm starting to feel a little upset. Naturally I want to go through this area as quickly as possible and at the moment it all for me, but the speed is not the name of the game in Hollow Knight: SilksongEspecially when it comes to bloody red flowers.

Hollow Knight: SilksongRed flowers require quiet and accurate entrances to browse. But at this stage I was far from calm. Suddenly, every air attack seemed to travel just a thumb outside the operation, and in Hunter's march that would see the past mistake to plunge into the spike bed.

To make matters worse, Hunter's March also throws a small army of ants on you, from which they seem to be made with an explicit purpose to kick me when I am at my lowest outflow. I cannot calculate how many times I would make a perfect jump from the red blossom, just to be hit by an air mistake in the middle of the jump, fell into the pit of spikes, respond, and was hit by the same mistake and hit in the same bed, which makes me absolutely dead in just three seconds.

Sounds like a skill problem

Now there is a strong chance that you have just read all of the above and you think it is a problem of me and that I have to “git gud”. Well, you're not wrong. I was frustrated. I was tired. I definitely did not just help myself repeating this Sisypho cycle again and again. But I'm not entirely to blame.

Hollow Knight: SilksongThe new air attack is very varied. Its arch is difficult to predict and face it, you must stand directly to the top of the red flower or the enemy to ensure that the attack lands, which is exceptionally risky given Silksong'Is an unforgivable hits detection.

I understand it Hollow Knight“With the” Pogo “jump attack was probably replaced because of a more dynamic combat meeting in the sequel, but I can't help but miss his wide, predictable arch.

I know Hollow Knight: Silksong It has several different ridges that confuse Hornet's air attack for a more traditional Pogo attack, but cannot be found before reaching Hunter's march.
