While he couldn't talk much about it, he did say that Sega had “talked” about the possibility.
Sega president Shuji Utsumi recently revealed in an interview that the studio is “talking about” finding a way to bring back the beloved Chao Garden Sonic Adventure.
As shown by Sonic Frontiers in 2022 and the long-awaited return of Shadow the Hedgehog revealed throughout this year, it seems that Sega has finally figured out what it wants for the Blue Blur. Sonic has had a bit of a shaky history in the past, but it looks like his and Sega's future is stronger than anyone could have imagined.

As much as Shadow Generations' wishes were granted, it's fair to say that there's still a lot more for Sonic fans to look forward to when he returns to the series. Along with Sonic Adventure 3, one of the biggest requests from fans is for Chao Garden to return of its kind, which Sega seemed reluctant to do in the past.
There is “talk of reviving the Chao Garden” in Sez.
The BBC recently published an interview with Sega president Shuji Utsumi, which mostly focused on Sega's interest in launching its own subscription service like Netflix, with only games as the main focus. Utsumi called the subscription model “very interesting” and said Sega is “evaluating” some of its options.
In the same interview, Utsumi says that he wants to return Sega to its former glory, noting that the next game in the Sonic series will be “quite challenging” and “quite exciting”. While the president gave no further details about the project, the BBC asked him if he was considering a sequel to Sonic Adventure, which he said would take “some time” to live up to expectations.
Utsumi was then asked about Sonic Adventure's beloved Chao Garden, something that fans have been dying to see come back for decades. Very interestingly, Utsumi confirmed that Sega has “talked about it” but that he “can't say too much”, suggesting that something is being considered.
While it looks like we're a long way from seeing what Utsumi is talking about in the interview, it's at least a positive step to hear that Sega is considering bringing back Chao Garden. With any luck, it will be attached to Sonic Adventure 3 and two things that Sonic fans have wanted for decades will finally become a reality.
