GSC Game World continues to release brand new updates for its hit survival horror first-person shooter, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The latest patch arrives just in time for the holiday weekend and brings a number of improvements STALKER 2 just a day after the popular title receives its biggest update to date.

On December 19, publisher and developer GSC Game World released a massive STALKER 2 update that included over 1,800 bug fixes, changes and quality of life improvements. Various fixes were made in patch 1.1, including NPC spawn adjustments, AI improvements, balance improvements, optimization improvements, and much more. The studio then released another patch on the same day, with the 1.1.1 update fixing several issues that were causing PC users to crash when launching the game after the 1.1 update.

Amidst the great success of STALKER 2, GSC Game World announces new updates for the classic trilogy of STALKER games released over 15 years ago.

After these two updates, GSC Game World released another patch update STALKER 2. According to the official patch notes, which you can view below in this article, the 1.1.2 update addresses some of the latest issues reported by the community with the game. Some users reported that the shader compilation was stuck, resulting in an infinite wait time or failure. Fortunately, this issue has now been fixed, as have issues that caused some to crash after exiting the game and others unable to load their save files.

The latest update also includes a massive new feature for STALKER 2 players that allow users to backup saved files and prevent data loss. In the official patch notes, GSC Game World says that save files will be automatically saved and take 4 days to be deleted. Unfortunately, it looks like this new feature is only available on PC, with no word on whether Xbox Series X/S owners can look forward to save saves in the future.

All of these massive updates and improvements over the past few days are sure to please fans, especially considering STALKER 2 had a myriad of launch issues with a number of bugs and glitches. Although it took a few fixes to get the game up and running, it doesn't seem like it's over yet STALKER 2 since massive success for GSC Game World. The long-awaited sequel has already been made by the studio, just a month after its release. GSC Game World previously announced this STALKER 2 sold over 1 million copies in just 48 hours.
