The popular TCGPlayer trading card market has been charged with involved in practices against the worker and the Union in its verification center in Syracuse in New York.

Last week, however, TCGPlayer announced the sudden closure of the authentication center. According to CWA, this is “an attempt to avoid his negotiation duties and maintain Neenion”.
CWA also states that TCGPlayer immediately sent safety guards to the authentication center after the announcement, with an implicit mission to bother and intimidate workers.
These individuals reportedly told workers that they were paid an hour for “beat people”. Reportedly, the eBay representative began to grab and verbally abuse the worker when he cleaned the cabinet, accompanied him forcibly from the building and threatened to call the police.
“We refuse to accept the corporate terrorism eBay and contempt for its workforce,” said Vice President CWA District 1 Dennis Trainor. “We will have eBay responsible in the courts, in the streets and in the public eye until justice is performed to the workers themselves who built TCGPlayer into what is today.”
TCGPlayer regularly participates in the controvers of workers' rights because the company decides to engage in the tactics of trade union suppression instead of collective bargaining. The company was found to violate the rights of workers from the National Council for Working Relations (NLRB) in 2023.
TCGPLAYER remains a popular market with trade card games and has an active partnership with magic: coastal manufacturer to verify online sellers.
The market primarily facilitates the sale of cards from Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon TCG, Disney Lorcana and other popular trading card games. TCGPLAYER also operates the card quality of card quality.
CWA and local politicians organized a gathering at Syracus TcGPlayer headquarters to condemn the closure of the verification center. The event will take place at 18:00 et 27 May.
