Summary
-
Final Fantasy 16's Clive Rosefield joins the Tekken 8 roster as the final member of the Year 1 fighter pass.
-
When he joins the fray later this week, it looks like he'll be the first character to actually kill his opponents.
-
That's because Clive's Rage Art revolves around igniting people with Irfit and leaving them as ash.
-
It's important to note that other characters, like Bryan Fury, have also flirted with deadly moves.
In case you missed it, the guest character completes the Tekken 8 Year 1 character pass. No, it's not Young Sheldon. And no, that's not Kiryu. It's not even Tifa.
As revealed during Thursday night's The Game Awards, the final member of the passport will be none other than Clive Rosefield from Final Fantasy 16. When Clive joins the game starting December 16, he will be the second Final Fantasy character to join the King. Iron Fist tournament, along with Noctis in Tekken 7.
Memes and hopes aside, Clive is a pretty worthwhile entry, even if he has a pretty mixed following. That said, if there's one thing that stands out about Clive, it's the fact that he can kill his opponents with his Rage Art.

Ifrit Has No Chill
As discovered by a Twitter user, Clive's Rage Arts revolves around summoning IIrit to literally set his opponents on fire. Rage Art would be an understatement. This is Fury Art.
IIrit will do its job and whoever the opponent is, in this case it's Jin, will basically be left as a pile of ashes. This led fans to believe that Clive was the first person to literally kill a fighter.
But what about Bryan?
While Clive can technically leave his opponents in ashes and leave no signs of life behind, it's important to remember that Bryan Fury literally beat people to a pulp.
Heck, there's even a whole compilation of the guy doing it. While strikes and fire are two different things, these are some serious assaults.
Oh, and as one Tekken fan pointed out, Dragunov is known for breaking necks. That's just as deadly. The more we delve into it, the more and more it seems that all of the Tekken characters are flirting with death. They're just not as obvious or flashy as Clive.

I still think the weekly Concord story vignettes were a great idea.
