The 8 Strongest Characters in the Reze Arc Movie, Ranked

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is an animated masterpiece that quickly became a critical and commercial success worldwide. In addition and as an adaptation A man with a chainsawThe fifth canon story arc also introduced many new characters to the bizarre series, all with their own unique traits, powers, and abilities.

Even existing characters that debuted in Season 1—like Denji, Aki, or Power—received significant upgrades during this story arc. From the titular Bomb Devil to the main character of the show, Arc of Reza is filled to the brim with many powerful fighters, and the following eight are the absolute strongest in the film (who are also, by extension, some of the strongest characters in the entire series).

Power – Blood Devil

She gets a massive power-up and then disappears for most of the movie

  • Debut: Chapter 4 (Manga) Episode 2 (Anime)
  • Expressed: Fairouz Ai (Japanese) Sarah Wiedenheft (English)

As a Blood Fiend (meaning a Blood Fiend possessing a human body), Urine is a naturally strong character who can use his own blood to make solid constructs such as weapons or other items. However, since she drank a lot of zombie blood during the last arc of Season 1, she was given an impressive performance that was revealed in the very first scene Arc of Reza film.

Power's horns grew significantly and she was strong enough to send Denji to the ceiling with a single punch. Despite her newfound power, she is unfortunately absent for most of the film, having been taken by Makima so that she can drain the excess blood so she doesn't become more powerful and arrogant than she already is (though a post-credits scene showed her retaining her eccentric personality).

Beam – The Shark Fiend

Lord Chainsaw's Loyal Follower is the MVP of the movie

  • Debut: Chapter 34 (Manga) Episode 11 (Anime)
  • Expressed: Natsuki Hanae (Japanese) Derick Snow (English)

Power's absence ended up being a blessing in disguise as she was temporarily replaced BeamShark Fiend and loyal follower of “Lord Chainsaw” who ended up rescuing Denji several times throughout the film and proved to be a key ally during the final battle against Reza.

As a shark devil, Beam can swim through solid objects as if they were water, which he does to hide whenever Denji is outside. Additionally, by transitioning into his full devil form, he can take on the appearance of a massive shark monster that can run surprisingly fast with its tiny legs and bite opponents with its jaws. Sadly, Beam was no match for Bomb Devil, but he became Chainsaw Man's mount during the final battle and helped him defeat Typhoon Devil.

Aki Hayakawa – Special Division Hunter

A normal human who can keep up with all the devils, hybrids and fiends

  • Debut: Chapter 3 (Manga) Episode 2 (Anime)
  • Expressed: Shogo Sakata (Japanese) Reagan Murdock (English)

Aki Hayakawa is one of the most remarkable A man with a chainsaw characters because he is an ordinary human being and a public safety devil hunter living in a chaotic world full of devils, hybrids and devils. He's apparently quite agile and physically strong from the start, especially compared to his former associates from the second division, but he's also made several contracts with the Devils that allow him to keep up with Rez and Typhoon Devil during the film's climax.

Aki's contract with the future devil allows him to see glimpses of the near future in order to avoid their outcome, which proves to be a key advantage in his solo fight against the bomb devil. Additionally, he is a talented swordsman who throughout the film wields a sword made with Angel Devil's powers and can use it to deal massive damage to devils. The fact that Aki came out of the explosive conflict against the Bomb Devil essentially unscathed is a testament to how strong and skilled he really is.

Angel – angelic devil

Aki's new partner has a terrifying ability

  • Debut: Chapter 34 (Manga) Episode 11 (Anime)
  • Expressed: Maaya Uchida (Japanese) Casey Mongillo (English)

It is important to clarify that unlike other prominent characters in this film, Angel not a devil, but an actual angelic devil who happens to have a human appearance because he embodies the concept of angels. Makima herself claims that Angel is one of the strongest hunters in the Special Division (second only to Kishiba), thus pairing him with Aki at the beginning of the film.

As an angelic fiend, he can fly, absorb human lives, and, most terrifying of all, transform those lifetimes into powerful weapons with special properties, such as swords or spears. Not only does Aki wield one of Angel's katanas throughout the film, but he himself uses this ability to defeat Rez with a shower of spears in the final scene (although he only managed to do so thanks to Makima's intervention).

Typhoon Devil

The embodiment of typhoons and Reza is the only ally

  • Debut: Chapter 41 (Manga) Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc (Anime)
  • Expressed: Eri Kitamura (Japanese) Reshel Mae (English)

One of the few new characters to debut during Arc of Reza the movie is the only one Typhoon Devila gigantic monster that can create storms and manipulate both wind and water due to being the embodiment of the concept of typhoons in general.

The Typhoon Devil forms an alliance with Reze after killing their previous partner and remains hidden for most of the film until he finally shows his true form during the final battle to level the playing field for the Bomb Devil. As expected from the typhoon incarnation, this devil is huge and can destroy entire city blocks with his powers to the point where they came really close to killing more than one important character like Aki and Angel. At the end of the day, it took the combined efforts of Denji and Beam to take down this dangerous monster.

Reze – The Bomb Devil Hybrid

The main antagonist of the film is an explosive fighter

  • Debut: Chapter 40 (Manga) Episode 12 (Anime)
  • Expressed: Reina Ueda (Japanese) Alexis Tipton (English)

This movie is literally named Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arcso it shouldn't come as much of a surprise to learn that its title character, Cuttingit is also one of the most powerful. After successfully tricking Denji into falling in love with her, she finally reveals her true identity midway through the film: she is a Bomb Devil hybrid and wants to capture the devil's heart with a chainsaw.

Reze is a Soviet spy who has been trained for dangerous missions all her life, so she is naturally cunning, intelligent, agile, and physically strong (as seen when she strangles “Mohawk Man” to death), but her most valuable and dangerous asset is clearly her Bomb Devil transformation. He can create a variety of destructive explosives from scratch—such as bombs, grenades, and even homing missiles—which he uses to defeat and kill several Devil Hunters in the film's final arc. Additionally, like all other hybrids in the series, she is incredibly durable and can regenerate entire body parts by consuming blood. However, Bomb Devil has one major weakness, the fact that she cannot detonate her bombs while wet, which Denji takes advantage of to finally defeat her.

Denji – Chainsaw devil hybrid

The main character has no idea how powerful he really is

  • Debut: Chapter 1 (Manga) Episode 1 (Anime)
  • Expressed: Kikunosuke Toya (Japanese) Ryan Colt Levy (English)

Denji is the main character A man with a chainsaw and by extension the main character of this film. In the very first episode, he made a contract with Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil, making him his designated Hybrid, meaning he can summon chainsaws from his hands, feet, and head by pulling a cord in his chest. But the thing about Denji is that he has no idea how powerful the Chainsaw Devil really is, and most of the characters who are aware of it keep the information from him.

Reze's affection blinds him, which is why he is able to quickly dispose of him in the middle of the film. But after regaining his composure and drinking more blood to heal himself, Denji is able to face his toxic love interest in a bombastic final battle. Beam tells him that the Chainsaw Devil can use its chains to move around the battlefield, but Denji decides to use them to transform the Shark Devil into his horse instead, and together they kill the Typhoon Devil. Plus, he ended up using his chains and whips to entangle Rez and throw her into the water to cancel her powers, which was a surprisingly great moment for a character who often acts stupid and reckless.

Makima – Head of Tokyo Special Division 4

Denji AND Reze are nowhere near her power level

  • Debut: Chapter 1 (Manga) Episode 1 (Anime)
  • Expressed: Tomori Kusunoki (Japanese) Suzie Yeung (English)

Makima she is absent for most of the film's duration, but when she finally reappears at the very end, it is immediately established that she is the strongest character and that no one else (not even Reze) can match her for strength and power. Neither Denji nor anime-only fans should know why or how she is so strong, but the fact that she was able to surprise Reze and defeat her so effortlessly was incredibly impressive.

However, this makes a lot of sense considering she's the head of Tokyo Special Division 4, not to mention some fans may remember her using her arcane powers to crush a bunch of Yakuza members from a distance in Season 1. A man with a chainsaw will get a second season in the near future, anime viewers will soon find out why Makima is so strong and so dangerous.
