Aloft: Tips for Beginners
There's no wrong way to play a cozy sandbox game like Aloft, but we've got some tips to get you started.
Besides being able to simply eat individual pieces of food, you can turn them into ingredients and cook delicious meals once you get a cooking plate and find a campfire. Some of these recipes can help you handle even the most intense battles to save the ecosystem.
8
Pumpkin pie
While most of the meals you can cook in Aloft will give you health buffs, many of them won't give you the significant HP boost that Pumpkin Pie can give you. With increased stats lasting 14 minutes, Pumpkin Pie not only increases your health, but also gives you a buff to attack damage, making it a dish to consider.
Naturally, you need a pumpkin in your inventory to be the main star of the dish, along with eggs and some sugar for flavoring.
Since eggs can be a bit difficult to come across in Aloft, and given how many recipes are included, make sure you use them on the most useful dishes.
7
Berry Loaf
Since the buffs you get from eating any meal at Aloft only last for a limited time, it would make sense for you to make sure you get the most out of it. This is why berry loaf is an excellent dish to cook; along with a massive health boost, it also brings other major buffs to the table.
All you need are blueberries, eggs, and some flour, and you can increase both attack damage and speed, which can help you in any encounter.
6
Summer salad
If you lean on the healthier side and want to keep your inventory stacked well into the future, a summer salad is the perfect meal for you. Besides increasing your attack damage, it also helps you gather resources.

Of course, like the other meals in Aloft, the Summer Salad will also give you a temporary HP boost, so it's an important recipe to remember. As you might expect, to make a summer salad you'll need two vegetables, tomato and corn, along with some garlic for seasoning.
5
Stew
While Stew may not have many other benefits, the boost it provides to your HP is hard to match with most of the other cooked meals at Aloft.
Even the health duration provided by Stew is one of the longest available in the game, resulting in a meal that can keep you going for quite some time during any combat encounter. Since this is mainly a vegetarian stew, you will need carrots and potatoes to cook it along with some water to give it a runny texture.
4
Carrot loaf
Loaves are one of Aloft's most effective cooked meals, and their Carrot option is no different. Since it contains some of the highest HP boosts you can get from consuming the dish, his carrot loaf buff may not last too long, but its other benefits make it more than worth it.
Carrot Loaf should be considered if you have carrots, eggs, and flour in your inventory, whether it's increasing your attack damage or significantly increasing your attack speed on your enemies.
Flour is used for each individual variant of the Loaf, so it is important to have a sufficient amount in stock. You can turn the easily obtainable Wheat in the millstone into flour.
3
Corn Loaf
Similar to the Berry and Carrot Loaves, the Corn Loaf also provides attack speed and damage boosts along with the general health buffs you'd expect from cooked foods. With plenty of HP boost and stamina in store, Corn Loaf is exactly as nutritious as it promises to be.

The basic ingredients for Corn Loaf remain the same, so you need to have eggs and flour in your inventory, but the only difference is the choice of vegetables, as corn naturally lives up to its name.
2
Pumpkin loaf
If you thought pumpkin pie was an efficient meal to cook and eat at Aloft, the Loaf version of it takes its benefits to a much higher level. It keeps your HP in check for quite a long time and you can be sure that you are also all set for the attack front which is taken care of by the massive increase in attack damage and speed.
Pumpkin Loaf requires eggs and flour as the main ingredients, just like the rest of the loaves in the game, it also needs you to have a pumpkin in your inventory to prepare a tasty meal.
1
Gnocchi
The highest HP increase and longest shelf life make gnocchi the undisputed best cooked food in Aloft. In addition to fulfilling your healthy vows, Gnocchi will also help you gather additional resources while giving you a buff to your attack skills.
Its utility makes having Eggs, Potatoes, and Flour in your inventory a must, ensuring that you survive any battle as long as possible until you're safely out of harm's way and able to get more ingredients.
