Season 12, Defiance, may not have been the flashiest, but it brought a few key updates that kept Apex Legends fresh and exciting. Players may argue that it wasn't a massive overhaul of Olympus, but coupled with the introduction of Fuse's explosive-happy fire sister Mad Maggie, the map and the game underwent a transformation.
Mad Maggie's disruptive playstyle was a perfect fit for a map that now had a bit more chaos. While this season may not have been a complete rebirth of the games, subtle changes to Olympus, new legends, and the LTM mode, Control, gave Defiance an edge that made players fall in love with the games unpredictability. Season 11, Escape, brought major changes to the game with the introduction of the new Storm Point map. Thanks to its large points of interest and dynamic design, it became popular and fast. Towering cliffs, dense jungles and vast beaches offered a refreshing change from the maps of the past. The large scale supported longer rotations, new strategies and new team pairings.
Ash, the former, appeared next to the map Titanfall the antagonist turned into Legend, whose ruthless efficiency would soon bring tactical layers to the game. Her Arc Snare allowed for aggressive plays, making her a favorite for players who love to play fast. At the end of the season, CAR SMG introduced combat flexibility. The ability to switch this high rate of fire weapon between light and heavy ammunition complemented the dramatic changes that came with the Escape.
3 Season 7: Ascension
