Wizards of the Coast has already given fans plenty of reasons to be excited about the latest Marvel collaboration with the beloved card game. Magic: The Gathering'with Marvel Super Heroes The expansion is set to feature a plethora of the most popular superheroes from throughout the history of the comic book juggernaut, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and more. Magic also revealed the biggest chase card in the set, featuring three different versions of The Mind Stone for fans to purchase. Now, Magicis new Marvel Super Heroes expansion sets a new record for the card game.
Marvel Super Heroes is the biggest Magic: The Gathering expansion yet
Magic: The Gathering'with Marvel Super Heroes expansion breaks the long-standing game's record for most unique cards in a new set. Crossover introduces more than 600 mechanically unique cards to the game, breaking the record previously set lord of the rings crossover. The new cards will be split between the core set, four pre-made Commander Packs, and various spin-offs, including Jumpstart Packs, Welcome Packs, and Scene Boxes. The Marvel Super Heroes the set will be officially released on June 26th, with a pre-release of the set starting on June 19th.

In addition to the assortment of mechanically unique cards included in the Marvel crossover, Wizards of the Coast teased a bunch of special edition new cards. Magic will bring back the comic book-style demo treatment first introduced in the 2025 Spider-Man crossover, which already showcases stunning versions of cards like World War Hulk and The Coming of Galactus. The superhero-themed set will also add special cards with artwork inspired by the covers of various Marvel comics, including characters such as Doctor Doom, Namor the Sub-Mariner and Captain America.
The Pleiade of Marvel cards comes with a number of changes as well as new mechanics. Wizards of the Coast has teased a few new keywords and abilities that have been added to the game Marvel Super Heroes set that allows players to upgrade their heroes with Power-Ups or use teamwork to provide stronger effects. Wizards of the Coast has confirmed at least one new card subtype, Plans, coming with the Marvel crossover and debuting several new Plan Enchantment cards. The Marvel set will also bring back several mechanics and keywords used in 2025 Spider-Man crossover, adding more cards to support hero decks, and bringing back the Connive mechanic for villains.
