The new Battlefield 6 Season 1 weapons will dominate the next meta

After some practical time with Battlefield 6In the game's first season, I can safely say that some of its new additions are going to be great – really great. Rogue Ops, the first phase of Season 1, will add three new weapons to the general arsenal when it drops on October 28, and while they're radically different additions, they each have meta-defining qualities. In fact, these three are new Battlefield 6 weapons are arguably among the best in their respective weapon classes.

Last Battlefield 6 The Season 1 Playtest only featured three new weapons – specifically the three from the first phase of the season – but that worked out great as it gave players a fair amount of time to test the capabilities of each, both in-game and on the range. With this experience in hindsight and after serious consideration, it is clear that these weapons will prevail in the future Battlefield 6 meta.

All Battlefield 6 Season 1 Weapons Explained

Schedule for the first season

Season 1 Battlefield 6 adds five new weapons to the game over the course of its three distinct phases – Rogue Ops, releasing on October 28th, California Resistance on November 18th, and Winter Offensive, dropping on December 9th:

Rogue Ops Weapons:

  • SOR-300SC (Carbine)

  • Mini Scout (Sniper)

  • GGH-22 (side gun)

California Resistance Weapons:

  • DB-12 (Shotgun)

  • Trait M357 (revolver)

Winter offensive weapons:

  • Ice Climbing Ax (Melee)

The demo featured only three weapons from Rogue Ops, phase one Battlefield 6 Season 1. Each of these weapons was excellent for several reasons, all of which are listed below.

SOR-300SC: Carbine to dethrone the M4A1

The SOR-300SC could dethrone the M4A1 Battelfield 6

First of all, the SOR-300SC may not seem like much at first glance, but this subtle accessory can turn into a machine when used correctly. It has the lowest rate of fire of all Battlefield 6's carbines, but more than makes up for it with 33 damage, tying the SG 553R and M417 A2 for the highest carbine DPS in the game. It has much milder recoil and its handling stats are what give this new carbine an edge over others; with the right attachments it can quickly become a bit of a laser beam.

The SOR-300SC is absolutely dependent on the use case, as it is unlikely to ever beat an accurate player with a great M4A1 kit at extreme close range. That said, it provides enough range variability at the other end of the distance spectrum to make it much more impressive in most other engagements. Plus, with the second-fastest base reload speed of any carbine, you can hold it and shoot more often.

New Best Mini Scout Sniper Rifle: Battlefield 6

The latest and greatest BF6 sniper rifle

The second new weapon coming in season 1 is a tribute Battlefield 4Scout Elite's fastest shooting rifle. The Mini Scout Sniper Rifle is a smaller and faster weapon that's perfect for Recons looking to do some damage on the fly. It is quick to load and unload and is more mobile than any other rifle in its class. Plus, it has tighter recoil than any sniper in the game, a ten-shot magazine, and lightning-fast ADS speed.

All that speed should technically be at the cost of damage, but it's a trade that's completely negated in practice. The Mini Scout only deals 80 damage compared to the others Battlefield 6 sniper rifles' 100. Still, with the same 1.75x headshot multiplier, it's an almost imperceptible difference for any sniper worth his salt. There's already so much to like about this new sniper; it's fast, light, and just as deadly as the others, plus it works even better for Recon players who want to slap on a 4x scope to get up close and personal.

GGH-22: Definitely not a Glock

The GGH-22 is the latest BF6 weapon

Last and least impressive is the new handgun, the GGH-22. The Glock-inspired sidearm is good, but overall there's no statistical difference to write home about. It's interesting for what it is and what it's inspired by, but with a 15-round magazine, a slightly higher muzzle velocity than the default P18 pistol, and not much else, it's certainly no showstopper. Outside of revolvers, though, it's not like anyone can really expect much variation from a handgun class.

The GGH-22 is also the only new weapon coming Battlefield 6 The first phase of Season 1, which doesn't seem to have any new weapon packs.

New weapons and weapon packs are coming in Season 1

BF6 Two new blueprints for one weapon

While not nearly as impressive an addition, the GGH-22 sidearm is just as welcome as the other two powerful weapons that were added to the launch roster Battlefield 6 October 28. What makes these new weapons even more exciting is the addition of several brand new weapon cosmetics for each of them, as well as packs for all other existing weapons. These decks are also appreciated as it will be nice to see some variation. After all, if the playtest was anything to go by, the two primary weapons from Rogue Ops will likely see quite a bit on the battlefield.
