Riyo Games has revealed a brand new indie RPG inspired by Square Enix's classic JRPG Chrono Trigger he called Threads of time. The game was announced at Tokyo Game Show 2024, an annual Japanese gaming event. The game features a turn-based combat system that revolves around manipulating time to unleash powerful teamwork-based combos. Threads of time will be released on both Xbox and PC, the latter via Steam.

Like Chrono Trigger, Threads of time sees players travel through different time periods. In this time travel RPG, the player will visit a variety of locations, from a prehistoric era with dinosaurs to a future teeming with robots and mechanical life, and many other settings. This adventure will feature playable characters from different eras such as the Time Knight, Rye; a transforming kitsune ninja from the future, Rin; and dinosaur vet Bo.
Xbox had a surprising array of titles showcased at the event, such as shadow dropping in its entirety Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters collection on Xbox.
