The Witcher is a series known as a bold, unforgivative fantasy. At every step there are prejudices, hatred, twisted magic and betrayal. We have seen war countries, still born children persecuting their parents and seemingly without emotions without emotion on the brink of disintegration many times.
In The Witcher 4, Ciri takes the reins as the main protagonist and is now a fully burdened witch herself. However, this leaves one big event open as an experience in a new game: an attempt at grass.
What is the grasses test?
In order to become a witch, young apprentices must undergo grasses. However, the grass study has not been done for a long time because the wizards population is shrinking. In general, only three out of ten children would have survived before the court, and it is an incredibly exhausting process that has been explored slightly but never first hand.
We will see the most important moment of Ciri development
According to Gamersky's interview with game director Witcher 3 Sebastian Kalemba, we will be able to experience Ciri, which will undergo the Trav test in the upcoming sequel. If that is the case, I hope that the Red CD project can do it as traumatic as it should be, and gives us the deepest dive into the development of Ciri as characters, from women to witch.
I am not just hoping for a simple sequence of dreams or something in these lines, with a lot of hallucinations; I want to see scenes with incredible behavior that show us something difficult to watch, change it from the optimistic and heroic character we know from The Witcher 3, to this cold killer that avoided from every community. It must be something not only Ciri's scars, but remains stuck in our heads long after the finished game. In addition, it should be something that we see further in the narrative – depending on how long it has been in the main story, because the Ciri passed through the court, it would be interesting to see how the effects turn out, which affects her everyday life.
I do not even think only in physical changes and changed abilities, but also in how Ciri – who has always been a loud, proud hero of the stories – must now deal with the masses spitting in her direction just because she has cat eyes and two swords. The real world is shit at the best times, especially the dark and terrible as a wizard, but those who hunt monsters are considered the monsters themselves. At the peak of its abilities of older blood, Ciri will do quite a goal for a harmful judgment that will only continue to wear it.
We saw only existing witches like Geralt, Vesemir and Letho, who are all older and have long been taken by grass court. With Ciri, it is our chance to see the character we already know as a man, from a child to a young adult, submits this infamous process, and see how they turn it into what we expect from wizards, in a truly invasive and brutal way.
