The Wolf Among Us 2 and Remaster revealed at Summer Game Fest

During Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest 2026 presentation, Telltale Games fans were treated to not one, but two big announcements regarding the highly anticipated episodic series, A wolf among us. Not only is a second season finally arriving in 2027, aptly titled “The Wolf Among Us 2', but for those who have yet to play the first five episodes (or want to relive the story to catch up), Season 1 will be getting a remaster for all major platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2, sometime this holiday season.

Originally announced in 2017 by Telltale Games and AdHoc Studio, The Wolf Among Us 2 was supposed to be released much earlier than 2027, but due to creative differences and the closure of Telltale, the project was initially canceled. Once Telltale Games was taken over by LCG Entertainment, the title was revealed to be in active development again in 2019.

With Opencritic scores across all of its episodes, it maintains a strong average of 80, A wolf among us has been praised not only as one of the most distinctive stories Telltale has told in the video game format, but also as one of the studio's best-written stories. This is worth noting A wolf among us is based on comic book series Fables and contains charactersmost would know it from classic Disney movies like Snow White and Belle.

While the fans A wolf among us will have to wait a while for the sequel, the remastered version of the first season will be available sometime this holiday season (release date not set). That means it could arrive in December or even launch in February 2027. We'll most likely hear more details at Geoff Keighley's big gaming awards show (or hopefully sometime before then).

As for what the remaster changes, it will feature improved visuals, lighting, character animations, user interface, accessibility improvements, higher frame rate, and many other cool features that will bring it into the modern era. There will also be a few goodies for die-hard fans, such as bonus behind-the-scenes videos with the cast, image galleries and scenes that were originally left out of the original release.
