Xbox has seen a big shift in direction since its new leadership took over in early 2026. Asha Sharma officially took the reins as Xbox CEO on February 20th, replacing longtime Xbox boss Phil Spencer during a tumultuous time in Xbox history. Sharma helped implement some big changes across the board for Xbox, from lowering the price of Game Pass to moving Xbox towards high-profile exclusives and away from cross-platform releases. Now, a brand new filter added to the Xbox Store shows what upcoming games Xbox fans are most excited about.

Subway 2039, Halo: Campaign Evolvedand Euro Truck Simulator 2 complete the top 5 most popular games on Xbox. Other games in the Top 10 include Pokemon Game Freak's developer Beast from Reincarnation, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantisand Minecraft Dungeons 2. The list only counts the base versions of each game, with some also having special premium editions on the Xbox Store.

The most interesting games on Xbox have many expected entries at the top of the list. Grand Theft Auto 6 has easily become the hottest story in the gaming industry, with Rockstar's latest open-world game breaking records and winning awards even before its full release. Several games from Microsoft s will appear on the list Fable, Haloand State of decomposition 3 everyone sees the high number of wishes among fans on Xbox. Several other games in development from Microsoft also appeared just outside the top 10, including Xbox exclusives Mechanical revolution and Gears of War: E-Day.
The Xbox lineup for the rest of 2026 looks set to be packed with a number of major games set to launch. Microsoft fans won't have to wait long to dive in Halo: Campaign Evolvedwith a remake of the first Halo the game is officially released on July 28th. The one mentioned above Beast from Reincarnation is also set to make its long-awaited debut before the end of summer 2026, scheduled for release on August 4th as a Day One title for Xbox Game Pass.
Microsoft looks to have a lot on the way in 2027 as well, starting the year with several big first-party releases. Microsoft and Playground Games recently pushed the release Fable until February 2027, presumably trying to avoid competition with the release Grand Theft Auto 6 in November.
