Even though Halloween is still a few weeks away, theme parks are always a few steps ahead, and a recent announcement proves it Universal Studios Hollywood is preparing for Christmas. The popular Super Nintendo World will be decked out for the Christmas holidays in 2024 for the first time, offering Universal Hollywood guests an exciting array of new events and experiences.

Guests at Universal Studios Hollywood Resort can enter the world of their favorite video games at Super Nintendo World. Featuring characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and more, this area is largely interactive and is considered by many to be a major feat of theme park technology. The new land debuted at Universal Hollywood in 2023 and will open alongside Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Resort next year.

Universal Hollywood is announcing a brand new after-hours event coming next year featuring Back to the Future and Star Trek.

With Christmas just around the corner, Universal Studios Hollywood has revealed its holiday plans, with festivities set to begin on November 29, 2024 and run through January 6, 2025. For the first time, Super Nintendo World will also celebrate the holiday season with several themed guest offerings, including a photo of snowmen dressed as Mario and Luigi, the Super Star tree and much more. In addition, guests can purchase holiday merchandise at various Super Nintendo World retail stores and enjoy seasonal food and beverages at the Toadstool Cafe.

While this is the second year Super Nintendo World has been open to guests, this will be the first time the area has been transformed for Christmas. This new celebration joins the holiday experiences already available throughout the park, including the “Grinchmas Who-biliation,” inspired by the beloved story of Dr. Seuss. How the Grinch Stole Christmas as well as “Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter” in Hogwarts. Universal CityWalk will also feature holiday decorations, including a 40-foot-tall Christmas tree, and will feature several entertainment offerings, including performances by DJs, street performers and live bands throughout the season.

The holidays are the biggest and busiest time of year for theme parks, as they go above and beyond to provide guests with new and immersive themed offerings and decorations. Universal's Halloween Horror Nights may be the biggest holiday offering at Universal's parks, but Christmas is a favorite for many guests, adding a little extra magic to visitors' everyday lives. Gaming fans are eager to see what Super Nintendo World has in store for this winter.


The Universal parks have been full of exciting announcements and updates coming to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort. Epic Universe will open at Universal Orlando sometime next year as the resort's third major park, bringing to life beloved franchises including how to train your dragon harry potter Universal Monsters and Super Nintendo World. Universal Hollywood will offer a brand new after-hours event next year, Universal Fan Fest Nights, featuring franchises like Star Trek, Back to the Future, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, and others.
