How to become King or Queen of Romaria:

Pretty soon Dragon Quest 3 remakeplayers will be tasked with saving the crown of King Romaria Robbin' Okaya notorious bandit. After you make your way Skyfell Tower and collecting the king's crown you will have to return to Romaria and deliver it to the king.

Once you return the crown, the king rewards you with something a little unorthodox: he makes you the new regent of Romario. Suddenly you are thrown into a position of power and you can no longer leave the city. You can explore Romaria, but your party is nowhere to be found. Basically nothing can be done. Furthermore, the game doesn't tell you how to reverse the situation.


Where to find King Romario:

If you talk to the NPCs around the castle, you will find out that the king probably got into Monster Arena. To find the arena, look for the Slime icon on the map. It can be found south of the building that hosts Item and Gun shops. Inside the building, you'll find the stairs to the Monster Arena along the southern edge.

At the bottom of the stairs you will see the main lobby of the Monster Arena. If you head past the bank and information desk, you'll find another set of stairs leading up to the arena seating area. At the top of the stairs, head left along the wall and you'll come across an old man standing on a ledge overlooking the arena. This is the king.

How to Stop Being the King or Queen of Romaria:

When you approach the king, he will ask you two questions:

  • Question 1: Is the throne up to you? Response: No
  • Question 2: Don't you wish to be the king/queen of this beautiful land? Response: Yes


Once you answer the king's questions, you will automatically be sent back to the castle and you will no longer be king or queen.

For the rest
Dragon Quest 3 Remake,
you can always return to King Romaria and become King or Queen again. The process of returning the crown will be exactly the same. There is currently no known use for becoming Regent of Romario. It's just an interesting situation.
