Marlene and Bill are the most interesting, no return characters because their game styles turn quite strongly around the tricks: Marlene has to finish Gamits, while it is advantageous to complete dead drops for Bill (assuming it actually emerges). This helps to earn two functions without a return that are easily rejected differently, and any new characters are added in the future a difficult goal to be equally unique.
