World of Warcraft officially confirmed that Brann would be the only Delve companion they would get inside The war within. Although originally planned to add a new character to Delves each season, World of Warcraft will now keep Brann around until Midnight extension.
Delves are a new type of instance introduced in The war within which can be completed alone or in groups alongside an NPC companion. At launch, the companion was Brann Bronzebeard, explorer extraordinaire and younger brother of Magni and Muradin, though he had previously stated plans to swap for a new companion each season of the expansion.

Now, it seems World of Warcraft changed his mind about this particular Delves feature. During the interview with WoW content creators The Comeback Kids, World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed that Brann is not only staying indoors World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, but in all The war within. “Large [challenge with changing companions] is that players have leveled Brann, have him fully upgraded and spec'd. When you replace him, do we take it all away?” Hazzikostas was worried that resetting progress with his companion Delve every season would be bad for the fans, so to avoid that, players keep Brann as their partner until Midnight.
Brann is the only dive companion in World of Warcraft: The War Within
It makes sense logistically. While adding new Delve companions would add variety, replacing all the hard work players put into leveling up Brann after a few short months wouldn't be great. Some fans have suggested keeping both characters or sharing progress between them, but those solutions don't seem to fit Blizzard's idea of how other Delve companions would work. It might be disappointing for players, but it seems World of Warcraft will only get one Delve companion every few years for the foreseeable future.

That said, there is still good news about Delves in Patch 11.1. Three new instances – two more Delves and a final boss Delve similar to it WoW: The War Within Season 1 Encounters with Zevkir – comes with goblin-themed achievements, rewards, and trivia. Brann will also be able to become a tank, allowing Delve's companion to fill any role.
Exactly how Delve's other companions will work remains to be seen World of Warcraft: Midnightor which characters can accompany the player in expansion instances. Since it takes place in Quel'thalas, fans could team up with iconic elven explorers like Naleidea Rivergleam or Elise Starseeker. Until then, players can only speculate about how the system will change throughout the Worldsoul Saga and beyond.
