ZA officially has three new threats

Pokemon Legends: ZA is in its third week of life since launch, and many players are already waiting for the confirmed release of the Mega Dimension DLC, which will spice things up with new content and even more Mega Evolutions. Based on leaks Pokemon Legends: ZAThe DLC will have 19 new Mega Evolutions, although other details regarding the story and new content remain a mystery. While the DLC may still be a few months away as there is no official release date yet, fans really don't have to wait for new content as the upcoming Season 2 on November 5th is already confirmed to shake things up.

Season 1 Pokemon Legends: ZA is almost over and ends on November 4th at 9:59 PM PST. It introduced Mega Greninja and Greninjite as rewards for reaching Rank K in online battles, and Season 2 is going to do something similar with Delphox. That's not all, though, as two more “new” Pokemon will be available in Season 2. The new threats are:

  • Mega Delphox, obtained after reaching S rank in Season 2 by getting Delphoxite as a reward.

  • Xerneas, who will no longer be banned from ranked battles and will have no team building restrictions.

  • Yveltal, who will no longer be banned from ranked battles and will have no restrictions on team building.

This means that in Season 2, all players will be able to use Mega Delphox, Xerneas and Yveltal in online battles, which will dramatically change the game's competitive landscape. In comparison, it usually takes much longer with newer generations Pokemon games that will allow players to use legendary Pokemon, while Xerneas and Yveltal will be available for battles just three weeks after launch.

Although Pokemon Legends: ZAXerneas and Yveltal don't have the new Mega Evolution and also lack their iconic Aura abilities, they are still very powerful Pokemon with some of the best stats in the game as well as signature moves. Xerneas has Geomancy which boosts Sp. Atk, Sp. Def and movement speed while Yveltal has Oblivion Wing which deals damage as a flying move and also restores Yveltal's HP.

They can be incredible assets Pokemon Legends: ZAranked battles, as movement speed helps Pokemon move faster to attack opponents, stat boosts can make a big difference, and self-healing can make it easier to survive long enough to get a KO. Both Pokemon also have incredible attack stats with high HP and defense, meaning items like Expert Belt and Assault Vest can be optimal choices for them.

The Attack Vest in Pokemon Legends: ZA can be obtained through a side mission or in Racine Construction after the game. Giving it to Xerneas means he can't use his Geomancy move because it's a status move.

Pokemon Legends: ZAMega Delphox will also be a very strong pick as it will be among the animals with the highest Sp. Atk in the game after Mega Zygarde, which is useless in online battles. With a lot of Ice-type Pokemon being used in competitive battles like Glaceon, Avalugg, Vanilluxe, and even Froslass due to Dragon and Ground-type dominance, Delphox can easily take care of them with STAB Fire attacks.

In addition, Delphox has access to Reflect and Light Screen, which are commonly found in many of the best teams in Pokemon Legends: ZA due to the sheer damage reduction they provide to the entire team. Mega Delphox will inevitably be the driving force behind the special attacker, and while it lacks the ice coverage for dragon and ground-type pokemon. Pokemon Legends: ZAhas moves like Solar Beam, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, and Focus Blast covered.
