5 Most OP Devil Fruits Too Broken For The Anime

Eiichiro Oda did so many things right in his creation One piecebut Devil Fruit might be his greatest stroke of genius. An energy system that allows for almost any ability gives the manga maximum freedom to go wild, though Oda has laid down a few rules to keep things balanced in canon. OP Devil Fruits exist in One piecebut if you want to see some real cheats skills you have to check out One piece's games.

The console and handheld games introduced the original Devil Fruits, which prioritize boss battles over fitting into the overall universe, resulting in several world-shattering mechanics that conflict with One pieceestablished traditions, stakes and scaling. Aside from appearing in filler arcs that could also be faked, these broken Devil Fruits will never be canon in the manga or anime.

While focusing on the Devil Fruits introduced in One piece games, I made one exception.

Simon's Pasa Pasa no Mi (Paper-Paper Fruit)

Yes, paper can be stronger than sand (or fire, lightning and rubber)

one piece crocodile and simon Image by GameRant; Sources: Toei and Banpresto

  • Introduced in One Piece: Great Hidden Treasure of the Nanatsu Islands

  • Devil Fruit Type: Logia

  • The Power: A Logia-class fruit that allows Simon to turn his body into paper or manipulate it at will.

I know what you're thinking: How is Simon's Paper-Paper Fruit different from Crocodile or Luffy's Devil Fruits? This ability would definitely fit into the canon story.

On paper (pun fully intended), Pasa Pasa no Mi sounds weak and uninspired, but Simon uses it in ways that are completely messed up. In addition to turning into leaves or scraps of paper that allow him to fly or mitigate damage, Simon can also write symbols that grant unique abilities. He can create multiple explosions, heal his health, improve his reflexes, or generate new types of attacks.

One Piece Devil Fruits Kill OnecShot

One Piece: 10 Devil Fruits that can kill with one shot

Devil Fruits offer a variety of attack abilities, and some are so powerful that they can kill in one shot.

Want a prime example of the absurd potential of this Devil Fruit? Paper's natural enemy is fire, and Simon is certainly vulnerable to surprise cooking; however, he can simply write that the fire doesn't hurt him to negate the damage. Logia users also typically have no regenerative abilities, but Simon can heal his injuries fairly easily.

The great hidden treasure of the Nanatsu Islands It seems to take place right before the Arabast arc and the introduction of Crocodile One piecethe most powerful villain at the time. Simon's Devil Fruit is much more versatile and powerful than Crocodile Suna Suna no Mi.

Eldorago's Goe Goe no Mi (Scream-Scream Fruit)

OP Spamable Energy Railgun with long range

  • Introduced in One Piece: The Movie and One Piece: Become the Pirate King!

  • Devil Fruit Type: Paramecia

  • Power: Converts sound into beams of energy

  • Yes, Eldorago is an exception as it debuts in One Piece: The Movie. However, it also appears in One Piece: Become the Pirate King!which came out just a few months after the movie.

I mean, just look at the picture above! Eldorago's Devil Fruit will make him a Dragon Ball characterbecause he basically just shoots out a wave of mouth energy that they use like Piccolo or Nappa. He doesn't use his Devil Fruit much in the movie, but there's no indication that it requires much physical exertion or a cooldown period; he just screams and blasts everything.

Eldoragg's Goe Goe no Mi would work as a late story devil fruit, but has absolutely no problem showing up on an East Blue villain. Since it appeared so early, the anime neutered the ability's impact by giving it a Luffy-centric weakness that allows the Straw Hats to bounce the beam back to the sender.

Noko's Nemuri Nemuri no Mi (Fruit for Sleep and Sleep)

If Freddy Krueger was a one piece seahorse

Don't let his adorable looks fool you; Noko is a cruel seahorse that has a truly horror-like ability. Nemuri Nemuri no Mi releases a mist that causes enemies to sleep, which is a pretty basic concept; however, the Devil Fruit also allows Noko to erase or overwrite the person's long-term memories.

IN Dream of the ocean and its remake, Dragon's dreamNoko knocks out the Straw Hats and then erases their memories of who they are, what they can do, and what they mean to each other. Mechanically, the concept strips Luffy and crew of their combat acumen, allowing the game to implement a traditional progression system. narration, Noko's Devil Fruit is a pure nightmare that could change the whole worldand Doflamingo takes over the island using Sugar's similar ability.

Noko's Devil Fruit is even more powerful than Sugar's because it doesn't require direct contact and carries much less physical risk.

2

Pato's Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Bake-danuki (Mythical Tanuki Fruit)

Creates perfect clones of seemingly everything

  • Introduced in One Piece: Unlimited World Red

  • Devil Fruit Type: Mythical Zoan

  • Power: Transforms the user into a raccoon dog and grants them the ability to transform leaves into people, objects, or even the environment.

Pato's Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Bake-danuki is the ultimate Devil Fruit video gameas it allows One Piece: Unlimited World Red introduce favorite villains and characters without having to justify their presence. Mythical Zoans are by definition rare and incredibly powerful, but Pato takes things to a whole other level that simply cannot exist in the main story.

One Piece: The 39 Strongest Characters in the Series

These are the strongest characters that sail the seas of the One Piece world.

Although their power varies, Pato creates near-perfect clones of Hoda Jones, Whitebeard, Ace, Warpol, Rob Lucci, Akainu, and even Blackbeard. All he has to do is write their name on the sheet and they will come to life with their devil fruit ability intact. It even creates a simultaneous army One pieceThe strongest characters, even if they end up being much weaker than his individual clones.

1

Patrick Redfield's Bato Bato no Mi, Model: Vampire (Bat-Bat Fruit, Model: Mythical Vampire)

Endless youth and immortality achieved through struggle

  • Introduced in One Piece: Unlimited World Red

  • Devil Fruit Type: Mythical Zoan

  • Power: Vampire

I don't know; One piece the inclusion of supernatural archetypes like vampires makes the concept feel oddly out of place in the universe. frankly speaking Unlimited World Red he mostly succeeds in reinforcing this perception through Patrick Redfield, an ancient pirate who is pretty much a straight vampire. Among other things, this includes the ability to regain youth by draining one's life force, effectively overcoming mortality.

Brook's Yomi Yomi no Mi is probably the closest to canon Devil Fruit as it revives him and prevents him from aging; however, he can die easily and doesn't have a lot of other OP abilities. For the most part, One piece he retains the threat of natural physical degradation, old age, and disease, and he certainly wouldn't pair immunity with stats comparable to those of Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard.
