6 characters that survived Gojo's Domain

Also known as the most powerful wizard of the modern era, Satoru Gojo is by far one of the most powerful characters in Jujutsu Kaisendesigned to be the epitome of power. Born into one of the most powerful clans in history, as well as having two innate techniques that can turn any human into an almost divine warrior, limitless and six eyes, Yuji's master was as charismatic as he was tremendously powerful.

So it's no surprise that its extension of the domain, Unlimited Void, is one of the most powerful of the 15 different examples of this technique found in the original series. Its ability to flood the target's brain with information is both fascinating and terrifying, as only a handful of beings survive it. Still, there are several examples of characters in the story who, for better or for worse, were able to survive the terrifying power of Gojo's Domain.

Gojo's playful persona is the reason why Jogo survived

Introduced as one of the few cursed spirits powerful enough to be classified as a special grade, Jogo was an arrogant and cruel being who reveled in the destruction and death caused by his flames. He boasted of his strength and claimed that there was no wizard who could defeat him until he encountered Gojo. Without even trying, Satoru was able to dominate the fight and prove to Jogo how weak he was compared to the strongest fighter humanity had on their side.

When Jogo tried to open his domain, seeing the moment as a valuable lesson for Yuji who was still learning the ins and outs of the magic world, Gojo decided to unleash his limitless void to dispel the curse attack. Jogo was caught in an endless loop of endless information flooding his brain, preventing him from reacting or trying to escape the technique. This technique did not remain active for long as Gojo was more interested in teaching Yuji than ending the battle.

Despite suffering considerably from the technique, as he became unable to move or counter for a time, Jogo was not permanently disabled. His survival came from two important factors, because without one he would likely have died. The first is that as a Curse, Jogo was not subjected to the same information overload that the Infinite Void inflicts on humans. The other was Gojo who preferred to toy with him instead of ending the fight because Jogo couldn't win if Satoru was serious.

Yuji Itadori was never in real danger inside the limitless void

While the battle against Gojo was quite traumatic for the Cursed Spirit who took the full force of Gojo's power, Yuji had a much more enlightening time. At this point in the series, the protagonist was still new to the wizarding world, as only a few weeks had passed since he ate Sukun's finger. As such, his knowledge of the techniques and special abilities used by members of Jujutsu High was seriously lacking, something Gojo was very aware of.

Special grade curses are exceptionally powerful and can make short work of the best wizards.

Gojo's Domain Expansion served as the perfect way to teach Yuji how these kinds of techniques worked, as well as the long way he still had to travel to reach his master level. To keep Yuji from suffering the effects of the Limitless Void, Satoru remained by his side at all times, actively protecting the boy from any harm. When the Domain was closed, Itadori showed no signs of damage, unlike most of the other targets of this powerful attack.

Satoru did his best to protect the civilians of Shibuya Station

Jujutsu Kaisen's Shibuya Incident is not only one of the best arcs in the entire series, but also features one of the most tragic events in shonen manga. Although the heroes tried their best to avoid civilian casualties during this fight, there was nothing they could do to circumvent Kenjaku's plans. Even Gojo was unable to keep everyone inside the train station safe as he was forced to use his domain around the passengers.

Disaster Curses released dozens and dozens of corrupted human spirits to kill the people inside the station who simply assumed the monsters were wearing Halloween costumes. To prevent their deaths, Satoru used Limitless Void for a split second, holding the monsters in place while using his overwhelming speed and strength to dispose of them. Unfortunately, even this short time was enough to cause permanent damage.

Each of the civilians caught in the boundless Void's radius were put into a deep coma as their brains were not strong enough to handle even the amount of information absorbed from Gojo's Domain. While none of them died as a direct result of the technique, they lost most of their physical and mental abilities, proving just how dangerous Unlimited Void could be in the wrong hands.

Mahoraga was protected by Sukuna until he could overcome the domain

After being forced by Sukunou to become his vessel, Megumi's soul was trapped in his own body while the Curse King prepared for the final battle against the heroes. As the battle progressed and the wily adversary decided to summon Mahoraga to aid him, he decided to rely on his domain extension to try and slow the villain down until it was time to deliver the final blow. Unfortunately, none of the heroes expected Ryomen to use Megumi's soul as a shield against this technique.

When Mahoraga was first summoned, he should have been completely overwhelmed. It took more time to activate his adaptation ability than it took for the Unlimited Void effect to set on the target. To prevent this, Sukuna used Megumi's soul to absorb the brunt of the attack, allowing the Divine General to quickly overcome the Domain and break it. If not for this ominous strategy, Mahoraga might not have played a major role during the final battle.

Megumi Fushiguro was lucky she didn't have a body during the last battle

Despite being considered a genius whose potential was on par with the most powerful wizards in Jujutsu KaisenMegumi was still an ordinary human, with no cursed item to protect him or a broken ability to keep him safe. Since his soul has been used as a shield for Mahoraga more than once, this has led several fans to wonder how he could have taken the brunt of not one, but several Unlimited Voids, and the answer is much simpler than expected.

The creator of Jujutsu Kaisen reveals his original plans for Gojo vs Sukuna

Gojo vs Sukuna ended with Gojo's death, but Gege's original plans for the fight have now been revealed.

Megumi's body did not take damage from Gojo's Domain Expansion directly, as Sukuna only manifested the boy's soul to protect Mahoraga. This caused Fushiguro's soul to become momentarily unconscious as it was still receiving the information overload of the technique, but there was no physical body to accumulate this damage with. Megumi was lucky that she wasn't connected to his brain during this time because otherwise he would have probably died.

The power and control over Rjomen Sukuna's cursed energy gave him an advantage

Better known as the King of Curses and also the most powerful wizard of the Heian era, Sukuna was much more than just a menacing final villain; he was a living force of destruction that lived to bring chaos and suffering. His desire for power was an eternal pursuit that culminated when he took over the body of Megumi Fushiguro, securing one of the most powerful innate techniques ever and gaining access to the Mahoraga. This makes it understandable that a being of such immense power was able to survive Gojo's Domain on more than one occasion.

Sukuna's power and domain over Cursed Energy could only be matched by that of Satoru himself, meaning he had all the resources needed to fight the Limitless Void. Ryomen had several means to either destroy Satoru's Unlimited Void or protect himself from the flood of information caused by the technique. One of his most successful strategies to defeat Gojo's Domain was to open his own technique at the same time, causing the two attacks to clash and negate each other.

Sukuna could also use his extremely versatile and powerful Shrine, an innate technique that allowed him to fire slashes capable of slicing through anything around him on a subatomic level, to target the edges of the Domain. This way, Ryomen could cause the technique to collapse immediately, preventing any damage. Sukuna is the only character in the whole Jujutsu Kaisen franchise to not only survive the Unlimited Void, but to do so by his own means without any outside factors helping him.
