Marines who deserve a promotion

Key things

  • Marines stop pirates from taking over the world of One Piece.
  • Some marines, like Kujaku and Prince Grus, deserve promotion.
  • Characters like Bogard and Rosinante show devotion.

Without the marines, the pirates would be the dominant force One piece. People serving the organization go to great lengths to ensure that pirates do not wreak havoc around the world. Obviously, some Marines are more dedicated and put more effort into their work.

Unfortunately, their actions are not always recognized. Higher ups can be biased and can easily turn a blind eye to a soldier's achievements if they want to. With that in mind, here are some Marines who should receive a promotion for their actions.

7 Kujak

Current rank: rear admiral

Kujaku from the anime One Piece

Kujaku is the granddaughter of Tsuru, who is a legendary marine. Kujaku is fearless and hardly fazed by challenges. Confident in her abilities, she does not hesitate to undertake risky missions.

Kujaku possesses the Muchi Muchi no Mi, a Paramecia-type devil fruit. Power is bound to her whip. Once a person is hit by an attack, they will inevitably become Kujak's subservient and follow his every command. This ability is not limited to living beings; even inanimate things like buildings can be turned into obedient slaves. Kujaku was instrumental in saving Koby in Hachinosu. So she proved herself worthy of a promotion.

6 Prince Grus

Current rank: rear admiral

Prince Grus from One Piece

Prince Grus is part of a newer generation of marines. He is one of the few young Marines who has proven to be able to handle difficult situations. Grus was first introduced in a cover story involving Bege's family. However, his proper debut came in the Egghead arc.

Prince Grus is a talented fighter, as evidenced by his performance in Hachinos where he helped Garp save Koby. Grus used his Gunyo Gunyo no Mi to create clay golems to attack and distract the pirates on Hachinosa. Although Grus is extremely talented, he may have to work a little harder to become a Vice Admiral.

5 Bogard

Current position: Unknown

Bogard from One Piece

Bogard is Monkey D. Garp's right-hand man. He has been part of the organization for decades and there is no question that he is loyal to the Marines. Bogard hasn't been involved in too many fights, but he has plenty of experience. He knows his limits and does not charge without thinking without thinking.

Bogard's rank is unclear, suggesting that he is at least a midshipman. If that's the case, Bogard certainly deserves to be a rear admiral or at least a commodore. As the story quickly approaches its conclusion, it won't be long before fans learn Bogard's true power and rank.

4 Rosinante

Last Known Rank: Commander

Corazon death

Donquijote Rosinante was the son of Homing. Unlike his brother, Rosinante was kind and caring. He was aware that Doflamingo was on a path of destruction, so he decided to stop him by going undercover. Rosinante joined the Marines and returned to Doflamingo to monitor his activities.

Rosinante was excellent at his job and his Devil Fruit was instrumental in helping him fool his brother and the rest of the crew. Rosinante's Nagi Nagi no Mi muted the surrounding sound, making it perfect for his ruse. Rosinante got all the vital details related to Doflamingo and he would never have known if it wasn't for Verga. At the time of his death, Rosinante was only in command. A man of his caliber should at least be a captain.

3 X-Drake

Current rank: rear admiral

X-Drake in his Allosaurus hybrid form in One Piece

X-Drake is the captain of Sword, a top secret organization within the Marine Corps. He remained undercover for years and made everyone believe he was a supernova with the goal of becoming a great pirate. X-Drake successfully infiltrated the Beasts Pirates to learn more about Yonk's plans and inform his fellow SWORDS.

X-Drake owns Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Allosaurus. It's an ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into an Allosaurus. It greatly increases his physical attributes and allows him to fight stronger enemies with ease. X-Drake is currently a rear admiral, but a promotion is certainly in play.

2 Koby

Current rank: Captain

At the time of his introduction, no one would have predicted that Koby would become one of One Piece's most underrated characters. He joined the Marines after Luffy rescued him from the clutches of Alvida. Subsequently, Garp took Koby under his wing and trained him to become stronger. The training was a huge success and Koby ended up improving both physically and mentally.

Koby was involved in the Rocky Port incident that earned him the nickname “The Hero”. Koby also engaged in a massive battle on Hachinos where he managed to destroy Pizarro's giant arm with a single attack. In addition to these feats, Koby also gained the support of Garp, who called him the future of the Marines. With all these things in mind, Koby deserves to be at least a Vice Admiral.

1 Smoker

Current rank: Vice Admiral

The smoker avoids the attack with his logical abilities in one piece

Smoker is one of the few recurring characters One piece who are not associated with the Straw Hat Pirates. Smoker made his debut in the Loguetown arc where he defeated Luffy and almost captured him as well. However, the dragon saved his son and thwarted Smoker's plans. Smoker didn't give up and followed the Straw Hats to the Grand Line.

Despite his lack of screen time, Smoker is still a fan favorite and has high hopes for him. One of the main reasons Smoker deserves a promotion is because he is among the select few Marines who care about the welfare of people. He opposes the manipulation of messages that the current Marine hierarchy is quite fond of. Smoker will remain a vice admiral for the time being, but he will likely be the one to lead the Marines.
