Soon to your adventure Greedfall 2: The Dying Worldyou'll find yourself investigating the Gold Mine near your village as part of the “New Evil” quest. This gold mine is a fairly linear dungeon with a few one-way slopes that make it difficult to return to previous sections before fully exploring the main path. Still, a destructible wall eventually blocks the main path, requiring you to collect some explosives before completing your quest here or exiting the mine.
However, getting these explosives is easier said than done Greedfall 2. You'll have to sneak into a restricted section of the mine to loot them from an annoyingly well-guarded chest. This will require you to move quickly and either take advantage of the game's stealth system or run away as soon as you open the chest. How to get into the restricted area of the mine
To get to the restricted section of the Deep Tunnels, you'll have to go pretty deep into the mines, down several one-way slopes, so make sure you bring all the healing items and other gear you think you'll need. You should also save at the entrance to be safe, though it shouldn't be too hard to grab the explosives and get back.
After entering the mine and getting the objective of freeing the trapped miners, you'll want to head down the ladder and to the right, then up another ladder to reach the tunnel leading up. Follow it until you come to an open area with some miners arguing. Loot the room and resolve the altercation in whatever way best suits your playstyle, then head further into the tunnels through the opening to the east.
If you are trying to complete the quest “The Missing Scales”, you can turn right halfway through this to reach the cave where Vlann is. From there, you can take an alternate route that drops you into the same room as the ladder that leads to the forbidden area.
At the end of this tunnel, go straight and you'll find an open area with a ladder and a path heading northwest. This path will take you to a crossroads with rubble blocking the path and a ladder. You'll need to climb up a ladder and into a restricted area to get the explosives needed to blast the blocked path.
The next section is incredibly tricky and can easily kill the entire party, so save before entering the restricted area.
How to get explosives
Once you get into the restricted area, things get a little more complicated. You'll need to get to the explosives chest before any of the guards are alerted and the fight begins. There are two chests, with the one directly in front of you from the entrance requiring a successful Mechanics check to crack open, but the one with the explosives is right in the middle of the restricted area.
You'll want to hide near the top of the slope shown above and watch the guards and wait for them to leave the box unattended for a while (don't worry about the guard on the raised area looking right at it, not actually having any view of the box.) Once they start leaving where the box is, sneak up to it, open it, loot everything with the Q key and get out of there as fast as you can. If you're spotted and a fight starts, you won't be able to interact with the chest or climbable path that serves as your easiest escape route, so if you're spotted after getting the explosives, you'll have to run a long way. escape.
Don't bother fighting the guards, they are tough and the fight will end the moment you leave the restricted area anyway. Get out of there and use your new explosives to free the miners and open the way back to the entrance.
