Five Nights at Freddy's 2 may have even worse reviews than the panned original, but it's clearly a hit with fans because its audience is actually quite a bit higher.
As you've probably heard by now, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has been absolutely damned by negative reviews from critics who have called it pretty much every bad thing under the sun. As of this writing, it currently holds a shocking 13 percent from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, which is less than half of what the original film received.
It might sound like Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is one of the worst movies of the year and definitely not worth your time, but apparently not everyone thinks so. Like the original film, Five Nights at Freddy's 2's audience score doesn't match the reviews at all, as it's actually viewed even more favorably than the first film.
If you're a fan, Five Nights At Freddy's 2 might actually be better than the first
At least someone is having fun with it
As pointed out by Redditor -Xayer on the Five Nights at Freddy's subreddit, FNAF 2's Rotten Tomatoes score has stabilized a bit now that the movie is actually out and more reviews have surfaced. While its critic rating looks even worse than when we originally reported it, the audience score (or Popcornmeter, as RT likes to call it) is shocking.
Universal's Horror Nights made me care about Five Nights at Freddy's
Halloween Horror Nights is for gamers this year.
After over 1,000 verified reviews, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has a whopping 88 percent viewership rating, indicating that fans of the franchise are finding something to like about it. Interestingly, this score is actually slightly higher than the original film's Popcornmeter, which currently stands at 86 percent.
It's worth noting that Five Nights at Freddy's 2 has less than half the audience reviews of the original film, so there's still plenty of time and room for change.
Of course, the Five Nights at Freddy's community is a fairly passionate one that has been looking forward to the second film for quite some time, so the overwhelmingly positive reviews urine just be a little movement to make it more love. That being said, there's also a good chance that fans actually like the movie and don't take it as seriously as the critics.
All in all, considering how most of the negative reviews for Five Nights at Freddy's 2 were about it having too much cheap fanservice, it seems like it may have paid off on the audience score. We'll have to wait and see how the film does at the box office when all is said and done, but it certainly seems like the critical reviews may not doom Five Nights at Freddy's 2 the way we all think.
