The highly anticipated conclusion to Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy that started in 2020 FF7 remake and continued through 2024 FF7 Rebirthapproaching the official title. However, keep in mind that this is largely internal and fans will have to wait a long time to find out for themselves.
Fortunately, it looks like it won't take any longer for some fans to play it than others. While Final Fantasy 7 Remake and FF7 Rebirth both first released on PlayStation consoles, series director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed in September that last part FF7 remake trilogy will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S. And while the final installment is still a few years away, it's nice to see Square Enix continuing to keep fans informed.
Square Enix already knows when it plans to release Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3
According to the director of the trilogy, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has an internal release date, but Square Enix is reluctant to share.
News regarding the title comes from an interview with Julien Chiez back in October (found and translated via Genkin_JPN). During it, Hamaguchi revealed that he and creative director Tetsuya Nomura “became tight [the title] cut down to two and we'll finalize which one this year.” In other words, by January 1st Square Enix will decide on the correct title for the next installment, but fans may have to wait for the next big reveal to find out for themselves.
It remains to be seen when the next big reveal will happen, though fans probably shouldn't expect it this year at the 2025 awards. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for example, is still pretty fresh, but it's clear that Square Enix is moving forward with the project. Perhaps sometime after the official title is revealed or released, fans could find out what the runner-up was.
What could be the correct title of Final Fantasy 7 Part 3 remake?
Fan speculation about the name Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 has been rampant since it was revealed to be a multi-part release. First and foremost, it seems pretty clear that each title will retain the “Re” structure for consistency. This could theoretically change, but assuming that, some possibilities (as discussed around the fandom and beyond) include the following:
-
Final Fantasy 7 Requiem
-
Final Fantasy 7 Resurrection
-
Final Fantasy 7 Restoration
Without going into spoilers, not only does he have a strong connection to each of these titles Final Fantasy VIIplot and themes, but each would also fuel their own speculation. Due to numerous changes across FF7 remake and FF7 Rebirththat speculation could do a lot to build hype alongside the name, so Nomura and Hamaguchi no doubt understand how important a decision this will be. If anything, we're a little jealous that it will be months, if not years, before the fans know. after all Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 the release date is definitely years away.
If the development and release cycle of the last two games (2020/2024) is any indication, fans could possibly see the final installment as early as 2028. It's theoretically possible sooner, but then or later seems more likely. Part 3 will inevitably be an exclamation point on the project, so Square Enix will want to make sure to wrap everything up in black. Until then, each of them Final Fantasy VII the games have a lot of content for players to enjoy.
Likewise if you enjoyed the first two FF7 remakes but never played the original, the next few years is high time to go back and see the original ending sooner FF7 remake Part 3 inevitably adds a few twists to it.
