Microsoft revealed two more Fallout– themed Xbox controllers with a decidedly flashy design inspired by the classic Pip-Boy interface. The newly announced accessory is compatible with PC, Xbox consoles and mobile devices and comes just before the release Fallout Season 2 premiere.
Both gamepads launch via Xbox Design Lab, a controller customization platform first introduced by Microsoft in June 2016, suspended late 2020, resumed mid-2021, suspended again in late 2024, then relaunched in August 2025. The Xbox Design Lab allows buyers to tweak everything from the colors and finishes of the controllers to the buttons, and even allows for some additional customization like optional engraving.

Microsoft introduces 2 more Fallout Xbox controllers
He just made his debut Fallout unveiled on December 10, the designs cover both the standard Xbox Wireless Controller and the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Both feature a Pip-Boy-inspired look with a dark green background and phosphor-like neon green accents for text, icons and other details. A linear silhouette of Vault Boy spans the center of each controller, accompanied by labeled input markers such as “move” and “look” next to the left and right analog sticks. Xbox Design Lab inspired shells Fallout's Pip-Boy are priced at $14.99 for both the Xbox Wireless Controller and its Elite Series 2 counterpart. The standard controller usually retails for $79.99, while the premium version costs $169.99. Xbox Design Lab is currently offering 20% off the base price of all wireless controllers and 12% off Elite Series 2 gamepads. The holiday event lasts until January 1. With applied discounts, one of them Fallout-themed controllers can cost as little as $78.98, excluding tax and shipping.
The Pip-Boy designs combine two existing ones Fallout– themed gamepad skins that Microsoft added to the Xbox Design Lab in March 2024. These earlier designs were inspired by the Vault-Tec aesthetic and featured a contrasting color palette of black, white, blue and gold. They remain available for purchase from December 2025, with prices the same as the newly introduced Pip-Boy shells.
