Pokemon Gen 10 Region Map Leaks Online And There's Too Much Water

Earlier this year, a leak known as Teraleak 2 released several key details Pokemon Gen 10 – and the new leaks have shown several features coming into play. One of the latest is a first look at the beta map for Pokemon Gen 10, which has been leaked to be named Pokemon Wind(s)/Pokémon Wave(s).. It is currently unknown if the names are plural or not.

Note: As this is a beta view of the region, it may change significantly before release. However given Pokemon Gen 10 is inspired by Southeast Asia/Indonesia, the bones of the map will likely be very similar to the official release.

Pokemon Gen 10 is inspired by Southeast Asia/Indonesia

As reported by CentroLeaks, the map is inspired to the point of being very similar. Followers of the leaker have noticed that many of the islands haven't changed much from their actual inspos, though that's likely to change. The islands of Indonesia and the Malay Peninsula have basically been occupied and rearranged, but otherwise look very familiar. Some notable landmarks include, but are not limited to,

  • Sumatra

  • Java

  • New Guinea

  • Kalimantan

  • Borneo

  • Sulawesi

  • Southern Thailand

  • Part of Australia

  • Many more

Other notable map points include the volcano at the heart of the region, the inclusion of desert areas and snowy mountains (all staples), and possibly the inclusion of Sulawesi. For those unfamiliar, Sulawesi is known for its extreme endemism, as the species evolved in isolation and do not exist anywhere else on Earth. “Isolated Evolutions” did not escape Pokemon Gen 10, but if it has its own regional development, it is perhaps the best inspiration. And to the meme's credit, there is a lot of water in this region, not unlike Hoenn or Alola. However, this is to be expected.

The inclusion of Borneo, as well as the raging water, strikes me as supporting evidence for my theory that Pokemon The Gen 10 water starter is based on a proboscis monkey. Previous leaks, as well as other evidence, have pointed in that direction, but the general map clearly shows how much the islands and open waters will play. Pokemon Wind(s)/Pokémon Wave(s)..

For now, fans will have to wait and see what changes from this beta. Pokemon Gen 10 is expected to be revealed at Pokémon Day in February, and will likely launch sometime in the fall of 2026. Seeing this look at the region ahead is no doubt nice, but the biggest question on everyone's mind that hasn't made it through is what the new Pokémon actually look like. Fans are months, if not a year+ away from that, but it will be interesting to see how the new region continues to shape up.
