Blood Leaf is a key ingredient needed for several important recipes Hytal. Blood Leaves are primarily a key component of health potions, meaning that players looking to stock up on them will want to obtain large amounts of Blood Leaves.

Additionally, Blood Petals are one of three plants that can be cut down to obtain Blood Petals, an ingredient needed to upgrade the Farmer's Workbench to levels 9 and 10v. Hytal. Fortunately, Blood Leaves are fairly plentiful if you know where to look.

How to get Blood Leaf in Hytale

Blood Leaf can be found in swamps Emerald Grove (Zone 1)in the snowy mountains Whisperfrost Frontiers (Zone 3)and at some landmarks in Howling Sands (Zone 2) desert area in Hytal. These plants emit a bright red glow in the dark, making them easy to spot at night.

Emerald Grove

To find Blood Leaves in Emerald Grove, search dull green patches of swamp covered with many large, light green tree crowns similar to what is shown in the screenshot above. These swamp forests consist almost exclusively of oaks, with occasional ash mixed in. You will find a large number of bloody leaves near the trees.

Some versions of the Swamp Forests in Emerald Grove have only ash trees in them, represented by dark green colored treetops. You won't find any Blood Leaves here.

Whisperfrost Frontiers

In the Whisperfrost Frontiers, Bloodleaves spawn in large numbers among humans snowy fir forests near mountain areas. The easiest way to find them is to climb a high vantage point and look down into the woods.

In the Whisperfrost Frontiers, Blood Leaves can only be found near mountains. There are fir forests that can also appear on the plains, but no Bloodleaves will grow there.

Howling Sands

Blood Leaves can sometimes be found in the Howling Sands zone growing on large skeletal fossils which can be found scattered throughout the desert. The location of these structures can be identified from a map by looking for symmetrical, bone-white structures that stand out from the rest of the landscape.

Blood Leaf bone fossils are few and far between, and in most cases you will only find one or two Blood Leaves per location. For farming purposes, it is better to explore Whisperfrost Frontiers or Emerald Grove.

How to unlock the blood leaf seed recipe in Hytale

The Blood Leaf Seed recipe can be obtained through cut down the Blood Leaf with a pickaxe, hatchet, or scissors in Hytal. Each time you do so, you'll get a few pieces of Blood Petals and, on rare occasions, a recipe for a Blood Life Seed.

Once you have this recipe in your hands, equip it on the hotbar and use the action button to learn it. You will now be able to craft Blood Leaf Seed at the farm workbench (level 10). Notably, a large amount of Blood, Storm, and Azure Petals are required to upgrade the Farmer's Workbench to this level.
