On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the anime was simulcast by streaming giant Crunchyroll Kaguya-sama: Love is War – Stairway to Adulthood alongside its Japanese broadcasts on Tokyo MX, BS11 and Tochigi TV at 10:00 p.m. JST (8:00 a.m. EST). The two-part special ended with the announcement of a Kaguya-sama: Love is war a film for which creator Aka Akasaka is said to have been working on a completely new story concept, describing it as “new but nostalgic”. This movie is marked as anime “The Last Chapter,” and its title and release date have yet to be announced.

Through a ten-second announcement video, it was confirmed that a Kaguya-sama's “Final Chapter”. the film is currently in the works has been shot. No other details were shared other than asking fans to stay tuned for further updates. The description also states that Akasaka's work will be a completely new film version.
The Kaguya-sama: Love is war the manga was first published in 2015 and has tens of millions of copies in circulation. Available in English from Viz Media, it tells the story of a student council president and her vice president who secretly love each other but are too proud to admit their feelings, instead spending their time conspiring to get the other to confess first. The manga officially closed in 2022, when mangaka Akasaka announced that he was shifting his focus from illustration to writing new stories for other manga. The manga officially ended in October 2022, and Akasaka moved on to Oshi no Ko and Marchen Crown.
